Question about Femur Pain??
Hi Ladies
After all thats gone on here lately I hate to ask this question. I don't want to offend or be a hypochondriacal nut, but you ladies are always the best for questions.
I completely understand the 2 week rule etc etc and have been the route of scans before but just want a sounding board before I go through that nightmare again.
I had a pain in femur area for 3 weeks, not a dull pain but more like a sharp throb not consistent but enough to get my attention. I wrote it off to tennis, working out and just my horrible feet pain referring to my knee and femur. My blood work is fine, alk phos, TM's, calcium etc.
The pain was really getting to me as I just could not account for it and my Onc just seemed to think maybe it was clodranate SE's. Just when I got really worried about it, it went away and was gone for 2 weeks. Then yesterday it came back with a vengence. It is just almost like a nerve pain or a throb inside, not sensitive to touch not sore just like a cringe then go's away.
(sometimes like an electric current pain)
Anyone have anything similar, sound like a bone issue that I need to go have checked out?
I hate to deal with that this week as am having 2nd stage recon in a week and wanted to focus on something good for a change.
Anyway would love to hear your feedback.
Thanks so much.

Are you on Tamoxifen? I got that pain periodically on Tamoxifen. I've been on it over 2.5 years now, and I rarely get it anymore. Bet it could be that. Make sure you're taking your daily calcium! Since it comes and goes, I think I'd monitor it for a little longer before you go get it checked. It might help to keep a pain diary so that if you do have to go to the doctor, you can give him a clear picture of how long you've had it. By the way, this is where you post questions like this, so you won't offend anyone. We're here to help. Good luck!

Thanks SG-
I am not on Tamox, but was on Femara ..now just Zoladex.
Did your pain feel like nerve or a cringe and did it feel abrupt sometimes?
Pain diary great idea! Thanks so much!By the way love your sig. message...love that song and it has held special meaning for me during this challenging year!

YES, to all of the above. Since you work out, it could easily be exercise-related, too. Sometimes, I'll panick over a certain pain, and then realize I did something specific to cause it. It is so hard to know when to call the doctor and when not too. I think that you keep on top of it and monitor it, and call the doctor if it becomes consistent. I'm glad you love that song. It and many others like it have brought me through some painful times. Third Day is one of my favorite bands, and I love Aaron Schust and Francesca Battistelli too. Sometimes when you are feeling down, tape some of those inspirational songs, go for a drive and just sing along to them. Brings me up every time!
