I'm bitchy, I moan, I groan.....anyway.

Navy - the Safeway Grocery stores ask at the register during October - I always say I have contributed and puff out my chest (have not had reconstruction yet).
Nancy - good for your girlfriend!!! At least safeway tells you how much they are contributing.
Rinna - you are correct - why not just give the money outright? Instead of spending dollars decorating packages of stuff for October, save your PR budget and go straight to the charity of your choice.
Do you know that Panera Breads makes a bagel in the form of a pink ribbon during October --- pullese!
-
If you haven't seen it - here's a picture:
-
I use return address labels you get at Staples or Office Depot and print them out on my computer. Bonnie, I will bring a LOT of stickers and we can have a sticker "walk".... lolol !!! Today I plastered them ALL over the store when I went for groceries - yes I go for groceries a lot !! I had a 10% off coupon that was going to run out and got a few basic things. Every single aisle has pink stuff promoting BC funding.
-
Am I allowed back in here after my big buttinsky on the Snarky thread? Just checking.
-
Of course Renee!!!!! This is the official free-for-all snark at the world thead!
-
I was worried. Thanks!!!!
-
Snark away (((( friends )))). I love you all, Nancy
-
Nancy, can't remember what thread you posted on about the LE bracelets but I got mine yesterday! I only got one, but it is reuseable plastic with a snap! Thanks so much for the information. Now.... I hope I don't need one again!
-
Barbe, you can contact them for more - they are very good - when I asked for a bunch to pass out to doctors and chemo infusion center. And they will provide for a "display", like to "educate" others at a health fair or such. I also hope you never need to use it.

I've needed it 4 times since my mastectomy....now I hope that now that I have it, I won't need it anymore! Murphy's Law #693...
-
Well it seems like I havent been here for a while - lots of reading catchup.
So I will just throw out a universal - HELLO EVERYONE.
-
I just got the letter today saying my COBRA ends Nov 30. They thanked me for being of service. I bet they really wanted to say good f-ing riddance!
-
My COBRA ends at the end of this month. They have to take me on in a private policy under HIPAA conversion. You can go to any insurance agent and get health insurance. You just have to convert from COBRA to individual policy within 60 days of the COBRA end date. Of course, who knows what they will charge you for it and who knows what you will be paying in co-pays! But you will be in Canada and won't care.
-
I hope you get a decent insurance rate Kathleen. I wonder what I would be charged -- maybe I will call out of curiousity. I sure won't miss the co-payments in Canada.
AND, I keep meaning to say I love your doggie -- those cute little button eyes -- what a sweetheart!! And you are too!
-
I hate insomnia. What's more, I hate being wide awake and hungry as hell! I'm dying for some banana pancakes
-
Well make me some too, cause I'm up as well....
-
Thanks Elizabeth - sometimes when she is just sitting in front of you with her head cocked she melts my heart. She has very expressive eyes that always look at you as if she wants to ask you a question. Thank you from Diva and me!
-
Hey there everyone. God. I should have checked in on this thread sooner. These posts are poetry, as far as I'm concerned."I've already donated my tits..." "I bet they really wanted to say good f---ing riddance." And Nancy's guerrilla campaign to end the pinking.
Just what I needed today. xo
-
I took a vacation from the boards and haven't been able to catch up here--can't decide if I want to try and read all I missed or just catch up to the most recent. The best I can do today is holler, "THAT SUCKS!" to all who need it.
Rock, girrrrrrrrrlllllll........I might just have to visit eBay later and see if I can't find some more jungle animals pooping out pink ribbons for the pepto thread. LOL
I've missed "mah peeps"; you all have never left my mind nor my heart.
((((HUGS)))

WTF....They have declared a National Emergency because of the swine flu? 90 people died last week alone, 11 of them children? I thought they said the panic over this was over? Or did they just shut up about it because people were starting to panic?
On the upside....it's a welcome treat to see both ROCK and DIANE posted...your presence here has been sorely missed, but never forgotten!
A big THAT SUX to those who need it...

I am not perfect, no, nowhere near. I will never be perfect, not while on earth here.
I am not perfect, and I haven't met
Anyone... anywhere ... on earth who looks perfect yet.
It's not that my anger just doesn't exist
I've found far too few positives to being snarky when pissed.
I've come a long way by watching a lot
To remind me of what family is and what family is not.
There are friends that I've had and left on the way
There are words that I thought about, but never would say.
I am a cynic, optimists leave me uneasy
I can't think of an end to this poem that would please me.

Sessna -- I hereby nominate you "Poet Laureate of I Bitch, I Moan."
I am winding up what has been the happiest year of my life to date (I moved to Cape Town a couple weeks after finishing radiation) and was generally experiencing low levels of suckage (tho there was some surgery on my netherregions due to cervical nonsense).
But now that I am preparing to resume my life in the States, the suckage is starting to flow again. (sampling: I have not filed taxes yet. My accountant isn't responding to my emails.) Thought it was behooved me to check in here.
And now that I see Diane is back too... well ... I am very very happy.
-
Welcome back. THAT SUCKS as needed. No use complaining much, as there is little if anything I can do to change it. Just gotta learn to live with it. HUGS, Nancy
-
What's up with the LD bracelets? I need one that doesn't look gawdy
-
This clip, the musical finale from Monty Python's The Life of Brian, is dedicated to everyone who tells a person with cancer to "Be Positive." (With sincere apologies to those who are going to be offended by it. I mean no disrespect to Jesus or crucifixions or people's religious beliefs. But if you are the type who might be offended, then maybe give it a pass....)
I saw this last night for the first time and nearly lost bladder control.
-
Jane, the LD bracelets ARE gawdy...mine is BRIGHT neon pink! It is only to wear if you have to go into the hospital or for tests. Like I've said before, if I'm unconcious, like from a car accident, no, I don't have it on, but that won't be my biggest worry at that point!
-
Rock ~ That's perfect! I laughed my arse off all over again watching it. Thanks for posting! I can't believe your year is up already, but welcome back!
Barbe...maybe we should just get tatoo's? Although seriously, with the state of medical care today - it probably wouldn't be enough!
SOI...Tramidol. My new favorite drug. Still don't know why...but at least I'm not being tortured while they figure it out. aaaahhhhhh.
-
The state of emergency, along with some other thing thery did a while ago, just clears the way to make it easier in the event hospitals are swamped. For example it clears the way to loosen some HIPA regs. Now someone can not be told they have H1N1 in the ER ( someone might hear) and have to go back to their docs. This would allow the ER to let people know right away and deal with it....theres a bunch of stuff like that. Sorry that I can't remember all the details but it actually makes some sense when the "why" is explained
-
My life is truly a mess right now, I am hanging on by a thread. I can't talk about it, just yet...but I will. Please pray for my sanity. xoxox Angel
-
Oh, Angel. So very sorry. I hope that thread is made of steel. xo rock
