PET scan "lit" up

cluster in my chest area lit up.  many lymph nodes and the area that showed up on my bone scan last week.  Onc seems certain that it is cancer.  i am trying to comprehend it all.  is it bad to recurr in your lymph nodes?  had another CT of just my chest area and then a radiologist will look it over and decide where to best do the biopsy then we wait and see results and then on to chemo and maybe radiation down the road.  want to try and put me on a clinical trial of a 3 drug combo that is being headed by the Mayo clinic.  not sure I want to do that....these are the drugs....Abraxane, Gemzar and Avastin.  Any advice for me?  Sucks that I reached 4 1/2 years to have to endure this again.  thanks for listening

    SO sorry to hear the news Cathi but you will get through this!

    My Mom is on Abraxane and Avastin...3 weeks on, 1 week off (Avastin is not administered on week 2---therefore, Avastin is administered every other week).  My Mom tolerates that cocktail VERY well with her major symptom being fatigue.  I'm not sure what Gemzar is like but don't fret about the Abrazane and Avastin!

    Cathi, my surgeon and onc both said the lymph nodes are filters for the body.  They try to contain the spread of the cancer cells so there is a chance it may not have spread past that point - if it is indeed cancer, and that would have to be confirmed with biopsy.  

    There are also lots of posts on this site about the drugs you mentioned and I think many people tolerate them well and have good results.  Keep us updated and best of luck to you!!
