Does anyone have ringing in ears?

I am a 62 yr old woman recently diagnosed with IDC, currently trying to make treatment decisions.  Radiation and AI therapy for 5 yrs are a given.  Chemo is undecided due to Oncotype result of 21.  I have premature hearing loss r/t tinnitus (ringing in ears)  I wear hearing aids in both ears and function very well with exception of crowded noisey rooms.  My biggest fear if I choose chemo or even with Arimedex is increased ringing and resultant further hearing loss. 

Since my diagnosis the ringing has increased.  Probably due to stress.  Also when I took Ultram for discomfort after the lumpectomy & SNB, I developed "tapping" noises in one ear which subsided after a few hrs.  After that I didn't even take a tylenol because that too seems to increase the ringing. 

Since tinnitus is a fairly common problem and BC is certainly prevalent, I thought there might be some other women out there with similar situation who could address this issue and share their experience with me. 

My med onc already said he would not give me TC due to risks, but use AC instead (if I decide on chemo).

    Kay, I've had tinnitus in my left ear ever since 1975--due to a virus that caused some deafness in that ear (most came back with prednisone.)

    I take tamoxifen, and I wasn't considered a chemo candidate (oncotype dx result of 12), so I can't share similar experiences. I do have louder tinnitus now--I've been on tamoxifen for 15 months.

    Just with the limited hearing loss and tinnitus myself, I can completely understand how you'd want to protect your hearing.

    I have had tinnitus off and on for years.  However, it has been fairly consistent for at least two years.  If I am remembering correctly (50-50 chance of that!) I think it was the summer that I had chemo that I noticed that it became more constant.

    They are ringing right now!

    I lost the hearing in my left ear while on Tamoxifen, still has not returned and I have been off it since May
