Neep help finding a medical team

I live near Manhattan (Rockland county). I was diagnozed wih IDC about 3 weeks ago and am  still trying to get appointments with local oncologists without success. Does anyone know of a good team in NYC, has anyone heard of the team at Presbyterian hospital. I am panicking at this point..

    I don't know Manhattan, but didn't your doctor that diagnosed you give you a referral?  No one should have to wait for healthcare, but that's another subject!!  Good luck to you in finding the best doctor for you and your care.

    Don't panic, it will okay. Do you have a surgeon yet? Generally, you will first meet with a radiologist for scans (mammo, sono etc.), then a surgeon and after the lumpectomy or mastectomy, then you will meet with the oncologist.

    Here are a couple of names. If you have any questions, then please get in touch. I live in Manhattan and there are many excellent hospitals that have a team/comprehensive approach, which will make this entire process much easier. If you have any questions, please get in touch.

    NYU - My gyno (whom I trust implicitly) highly recommended Axelrod, but she was on vacation when I was diagnosed and I didn't want to wait until she returned.

    I went to Bergen County at the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack University Medical Ctr.  I was treat excellent there.  Had my mastectomy with Dr. Marson Davidson the Breast Surgeon, Chemo with Dr. Waintraub.  Did Chemo and treated very well there and made to feel very comfortable duing treatments with lounge chairs and warmed blankets.
