how long did anyone wait to have lymph nodes removed??

hello,

my mum had a mx on the 24th of september. She waited 2 weeks for the results,which came back with 1 out of 2 possitive nodes. Therefore she has got to have another op to remove all the nodes.

The op is on the 30th of october, 5 weeks after first op. This seems like a long time to wait while there is a chance the cancer is in the nodes.

just wondered how long other people have had to wait,would be greatful for your feed back x x x

    H Sorry 2 hear about your mum- I had a biopsy in mid july w/ results back on 8/3 _(bad news)- I did not have lumpectomy w/ all nodes removed til 9/27. BS told me CA took 4-7 years 2 grow- the size of my tumor is about the same but grade 2 in terms of its aggressive nature. But I was about 5 weeks also -the waiting is the WORST PART but I think the time thing will not affect her physically- but again - that was my onc's thoughts but it is one of the most respected CA centers in the world.     two weeks for me but as valerie said, tumor probably took years to grow so a couple of weeks should not make a difference...best of luck to your mum...take care...

    thank you for your feed back.Yes i think waiting must be the hardest part too!

    They did say it wont make any difference, but i worry too much. i try to be possitive but find it hard sometimes. its nice to talk to people going through the same thing. x x x
