Curcumin during chemo

Options

I just order curcumin for my mom's neuropathy (because of Taxol). She is suffering of numbness in feet and hands. But I just read that maybe curcumin during chemo is not recommended. And another question. The curcumin is 400 mg in 60 pcs capsules. How many capsules per day is the right dosage?

    I took Curcumin during chemo.

I believe it is some of the B vitamins that we are not suposed to taking during chemo, because they may interfere with the cell destruction of the chemo?

Someone help me out here. . .

I took curcumin during chemo (AC then Taxol) and it really helped. I took two different kinds, the dosaage of curcumin in each pill varied. 400mg sounds a lot - is there anything else in the pill?

    sakura 73,

what was your daily dosage? How many Taxol treatments did you have? Suppose you had neuropathy. What symptoms did you have?  When did you feel better after curcumin?

Have you looked at the research done on melatonin to reduce neuropathy from taxol?

I had 12 weekly Taxol and the curcumin really helped with the aches in my fingers and legs. I never had neuropathy really, more aches. I took 2 different pills containing curcumin - Nalgesic (one per day though at one stage it was upped to 3 per day when I moved from AC to Taxol) and Vitanox (2 per day). I am still taking them both now during radiation. You can find them both on Google. I got them from the naturopath. Hope this helps.

    Hi,

Before taking any supplementation it's better to ask your oncologist.

Like all the substances Curcumin can help in many situations or sometimes have interractions with the cconventional therapy. Nothing is black or white in medicine.

If it's not possible to take it during the chemo or radiotherpy you can take it before and or after. Your doctor will advise you when to stop and to start again.

Anyways curcumin has very interesting properties to fight cancer but ask your doctor.

you can also ask him an advice for methods to decrease the side effects of the therapy (antiemetic, special diets and so on) I don't know I an not a doctor, ask yours

Have a very nice day Laughing
