new breast pain
I finished treatment in 2006 of rads. I had Grade three stage 1 but were not sure of size of tumors(long story) and could have been a 2 stage. I had one node removed and it was ok. A large lumpectomy was done. Ok, I just had a mammo two months ago and all was well and no issues with breast. A couple of weeks ago I started having some pain in that breast. Yesterday it was very bad to where I took a darovcett and motrin. It had been bothering me with twinges etc but then this. Ok, what should I do? Do I wait for next mammo in 10 months or just wait and see if all goes away? I had ductal and lobular and dcis. It is so expensive to go back and I dont want to seem paranoid. I dont think about it until this. Am I being paranoid?

No you are not being paranoid, just in tune with your body. I'm wondering if it is a benign cyst -- they can be painful. Perhaps you should go to your PCP and have her/him take a look. It's better to be safe than sorry, and it will put your mind at ease. Take care,

Hi Manos, I read we both finished radiation at the same time. I also had a lumpectomy done (Large scar) twice. About 6 weeks ago I was suffering from the same condition. Everything you said except very bad pain. Oncologist said its not related to cancer, called my BS, who was going away for vacation and he couldn't see me another 3 weeks, he also said the same thing " I have no concern. Finally week 3 it was getting worse, couldn't even touch my breast it was so sore and feeling so weird including my nipple
I took myself to the ER, They did blood work for infection, US, everything came back okay.
When I finally saw my BS this is what exactly told me <I cut your breast twice, then it was poisoned by chemo, and burn by radiation> okay i got it. I trust him.
I also had my last mammo June of 2009. in July oncologist did the blood work. No problem was detected. I feel okay now, then few days ago I moved a book shelf pain was back for few days
BS asked me 1 question when i was on the phone, if my breast changing color or swollen? and it wasn't. All you need if you ask me a US. to have piece of mind. It can drive you crazy. Please call your oncologist and talk to him/her. Okay
Good Luck to you
This was my own experience i shared with you.

Thanks. I do not have a Primary yet. Mine quit..I quit going to Onc. about six months after. It was just too much money for all those Docs. I had blood work-up done two months ago due to something else and I got a call that my B12 was very low. I am taking shots now. She said everything else look ok she thought. My Doc quit at that time. My boob feels off lately and even a bit itchy on inside but I just had mammo in August. I guess there is so much you can do to the sensitive area. I will keep an watchful eye.
