Underarm prespiration & node biopsy

After a node biopsy, gals generally do not prespire as much as they once did? Why?

When I asked my surgical onc about using antipresperants, she said I would prespire very little. I didn't really believe her. It was true as I no longer prespire.  What caused the change? The removal of the sentinel node or the breast tissue?

I've never had a node biopsy.  I would guess that if someone removed axillary nodes, they would also be removing some sweat glands in the underarm area, at least in order to sew up the incision.  Maybe I'm totally wrong about this; I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

I had 9 nodes removed - I still sweat as much as I ever did (unfortunately!)

I have almost no sweat under the arm that had the ALND. The other arm is less now, but during chemo I didn't sweat on either side.

My, my, think of all the money I saved on deoderant and disposable razors during chemo. Lucky me.

I still sweat on the SNB side but then again my nodes were removed during the mastectomy so I have no scaring under that arm.
