AC --> T is much more stronger and of course more toxic.
Which will be more suited for you depends on your age, stage, grade, ER/PR, Her2, lymph node status, risk appetite, existing health etc,.
Has your onco said that you should decide or are you just wondering?

Hello Germansauce,
I am five years out from treatment and doing quite well. It is my understanding that carboplatin is quite effect for triple negative breast cancer. Most doctors have their favorite cominations though. I had chemo therapy before I had my tumor removed. We were able to watch it to see how it responded. Everyone responds differently, but for me the AC cocktail did not work for me. You will probably hear others with a different outcome. After three rounds of AC we changed my treatment to carboplatin and taxotere. My tumor did get smaller and my doctors said that was an indication that we had a good outcome.
Ask you doctor lots of questions. You might even get a second opinion. I did. It helped me feel more confident about the decisions I was making.
Warmly,
Sadie

I think a second opinion is a good idea.

I had a similar diagnosis and went with the Taxotere and Cytoxan every three weeks. My onc said it was as effective but with fewer side effects than the AC. A second opinion is a great idea.

Thank you so much for your reply
how are you doing this days?

I am doing well, and the only lingering side effect is some fatigue. I am back to work full time and am running and traveling again. My check-ups are every three months now, with my next one in November, and I'll have my next mammo in January. I had a lumpectomy and radiation and finished treatment in July.
Best wishes to you as you travel along this journey. Please keep me posted on your treatment.
Hugs,
Jennifer

Hello GermanSauce, curious what did you decide?
-
I had my first chemo on 10/5/09 and I decided on Cytoxan and Taxotere
On monday right after chemo i went and got acupuncture done. Wednesday and Thursday I stayed very active with working out. I had reiki done yesterday and also acupuncture. the chemo is not as bad as i had expected but bad enough I use alternative medicine to help me out.

Congratulations Uta on doing so well with chemo. I know you know I did the same treatment and it went very well for me. I believe exercise was a big factor in how I did so well and also, I want to recommend that you endeavor to eat well and eat often during treatment. I don't mean for you to eat empty calories to stay full, but keep your body nourished. For me, I could feel myself start to drag if I got too hungry. I would bounce back as soon as I had a balanced meal.
Take care and I hope it continues to go well for you!
Lorrie

Thanks for the update Uta. Is infection a risk with acupuncture needles?
-
Thank you Lorrie, yes I know to eat the right food is very important and I'm trying to do so
Today I went to a nice and unusual service at church. We had a special event for all our pets, if small or big , dogs, cats, birds, turtles etc. every animal received an individual blessing it was very nice and to my surprise very calm all animals got along very nicely it was very special
I wanted to share that with all of you and hope it had put a smile on your faces.
Many blessings to all of you
Uta

oh forgot to answer the question about the acupuncture needles, the acupuncturist is very careful to have everything very sterile that I don't get any infections. The cancer center I have my treatments at recommended the acupuncturist

Thanks German Sauce.
