Anyone starting chemo in June 08

I am enjoying a rare double nap, so mommy gets some computer time! I am planning a big double birthday party in 2 weeks. Garrett will be 3 on Oct 22 and Eli (my chemo baby) will be 1 on October 23rd! This year has flown by.
I just heard today that my "variant of unknown significance" for the brca test has now been reclassified as a negative result. I don't think that really changes my plans of having the other breast removed, but it is still good news.
Everyone please enjoy this cooler weather and be safe.

HunkyD...Hoping all is going well for you.
Wow, lots of trips going on....Kelly....hope you enjoy California...I have always wanted to go there sometime.
Bonnie....Nice...the panama ....that sounds sweet.
Wyoming...hoping your counts are all good.
Well, I have been a busy beaver at work and am DAT when I get home....LeggyJ....
Starting to see the leaves changing colour....hoping to drive a bit north this coming weekend and check out the colours.
So glad to see everyone is hanging in there. HunkyD.... you are right... everyone has been through so much and we all keep on trucking. HunkyD....loved your hair.
Take care....will check in soon

I don't know if I told you HunkyD, I love your hair too! Wish mine would spike up like that. KKing, I'm always DAT, today was so busy and tomorrow morning at 9am I see my surgeon's nurse, so at least I can sleep in a hour.
-
LeggyJ don't just love it when your appt is a little later than what you normally would have to get up.
Elliemae32 did you plan to have both babies around the same date? I bet they both are a hand full but also so much fun.
Karen hope you can rest and relax this weekend.
HunkyD I know you are in surgery but want to say good luck and I'm thinking about you.
We are to get more snow tonight. I wish it come so soon. Talk to everyone later.

Wyoming,
It wasn't completely planned, but hoped for. Between already having all the clothes in the right season, baby gear and having already met my max on my insurance from chemo.. Eli was almost free.... Just formula and diapers! I need to look up how to post a picture again.
And, did you type snow??? It is 87 here today!
-
Just thought I would let you know I am home now. 5 hour surgery yesterday. I am not going to type much. I am in some pain but only have two drains this time. Later....HunkyD
-
Glad to hear your doing OK HundyD!
My appt with my surgeon's nurse went well, she said I don't have to see her for a year!! Good! I'm getting sick of hospital's. She had BC, so she gave me a good tip on a bra, it was the Ipex bra from Victory Secrete, she was wearing it, and showed me. Funny , I don't feel uncomfortable about showing my boobs, anymore, I quess we get used to it. She also, told me to take a multi. vit., calcium, and D3. I was worried about taking to much D3, because I'm outside all day, but she said to take 400mg. per day..
Yes Wyoming it was nice to not have to race to work...Oh I wish I could see snow!! We rarely get any snow below 2000 feet above sea level, just a light dusting on the mountains. But I lived in NM for four years, and would go to Santa Fe, for fun and snow....Loved it.
-
Leggy, wow, that is nice not to have to go in for a year. I don't ever think my onc will release me for a whole year. I take a multivitamin also. My onc put me on that straight off. I have heard of the ipex. I am not buying any bras however until I get end result. Did you just have lumpectomy? Wyoming, are you getting snow? It stopped here. Weather has warmed back up to 40's. Well, I am just lounging. Ellie, would love to see some pictures. All of ya have a good one....HunkyD
-
Hi HunkyD, good to hear from you, How's it going? I still have to see my Onc. every 6 months, because I'm on Tamoxifen. But you know I feel better not having to see the NP every three mo.'s. Yeah, I had a lumpectomy and SNB, and then had to have another surgery to get clear margins. So I have a bit of a dent, but my cancer was at 3 o'clock, so it doesn't show that much, I quess, but bra's hit right there, where my scar tissue is. I had to see my surgeon's nurse because of the scar tissue, but now I'm sort of glad, for the lump, otherwise I'd have a really big dent. They ended taking 5.6 x2.9 cm....Yikes! Oh well, it's not like I have a line of men, wanting to see my boobs. Sometime's though, I wish I had a new set.
-
I woke up to more snow this morning. It melted by the afternoon. It could snow tomorrow with a 70% chance. The high for the weekend is 35 degrees. This is too soon to get this cold!!!!!!
HunkyD glad to hear you are doing OK. How long will you have the drains? I also take a multivitamin. But I have taken one for ever.
LeggyJ good to hear that you can go a whole year without seeing your surgeon's nurse. I have tried on an ipex bra and it doesn't fit me. I either hang out or pucker in the cups. I had a sales lady measure me and none of their bra fit. I used to be able to wear the Body by Victoria until they change it. I now am wearing a Bali comfort bra. It is a lot like the old Body by Victoria bra that I liked. I am pretty picky about my bras.
I notice when I read my past post that sometimes I don't make sense. I think my chemo brain is to blame. Hopefully you can understand what I'm trying to say. I'm really not that dumb. LOL I have treatment tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed for good numbers.
Have a good Friday

Good luck on the numbers today Wyoming. Don't worry about your posts making sense. I can understand them completely. So if they are screwy, I guess I am too. Does your trt still give you the nose bleeds? Kelly, hope your trip was fun. Got back from PS this morning and he pulled my drains. YEA! Now, I just lay and rest until Monday. I am back in bed already and it feels good. Hope everyone working has a super fast Friday. Later...HunkyD
-
Wyoming, I know I have chemo. brain, but I didn't notice anything screwy about your posts. Sometimes, I may repeat myself because I can't remember if I told you girls about whatever, before. Good luck, on the #'s!
It's Friday, and I'm not DAT! Maybe I'm getting close to normal, whatever that was.
-
HunkyD....glad you are doing so well...getting rid of the drains. Make sure you rest as much as you need. You know how it goes as soon as you start doing things again everyone thinks you are back to normal...Like LeggyJ said....normal...whatever that was.
Wyoming..Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you. You want low number....real low.
LeggyJ...Yes I am DAT as well.
I did go out for supper tonight with my two closest friends..it was so nice to eat drink and laugh a lot. We don't do it enough but we are planning a shopping trip to Toronto in November where we rent a room and stay over. Must say we do a lot of talking, eating and drinking and not a whole lot of shopping. We tell the families it is the start of our Christmas shopping.... works every year.
Hoping all the Junies have a nice weekend. Going to watch either the movie The Proposal or possibly Drag Me to Hell..... I think we have all been there already.
Hugs to you all
Karen

My numbers were low so now I get go for once every 4 weeks.
HunkyD glad to hear you have your drains out. I remember them as a pain in #$%##. Make sure you rest up. I spent most of the day in bed today because I'm DAT. I still get nose bleeds and my nose is really sore. I am using a saline mist during the day. Because every time I blow I have blood. The mornings are the wost. But a small price to pay to keep my cancer at bay.
Karen I like your idea of shopping. Which movie did you decide on? Drag me to Hell sounds like what we've been through. Every once in a while I see a light to get me out. HAHAHAHA
It is a cold weekend here. The high today was 19. Next week we should start to see the highs in the 50's. More normal.
Have a good Sat.

Wonderful news Wyoming!!! I love to hear good numbers!!!! Resting for me, and another movie tonight. We watched a crazy one last night....not a chick flick for sure. It was called Year One. Don't quite know how to rate it! LOL. Good night all....HunkyD

Hi, I had a busy day. Walked Wolfie all over town, nice day. My ex-boyfriend came over and fixed two sinks for me, and brought KFC!!! What a deal for me. Poor guy. I felt bad hitting him up last week, with a honey do list, but I needed help...I've been washing my face and brushing my teeth in the kitchen, for a week after I took my pipe's apart, under my bathroom sink. I dropped my diamond earring, down the drain. I got my earring. But messed something up. Then he fixed the kichen sink..What a guy. To bad things didn't work out for us, but maybe he's breathing a sigh of relief. Now I'm DAT, time for a nap.

We are freezing here in Colorado. I guess don't feel the cold, my daughter has been out in the snow for about 2 hours. I was too cold to do more than admire her big snowball and snap a picture. Then it was right back to the couch for me.
Some of my friends from school came to see me this weekend. I was so glad to see them. It has been three years but we just jumped right back in and I loved spending time with them Maybe this forced retirement won't be so bad after all.
Have a great weekend everyone. I am just going to sit around eating cookies! Yum Kelly
-
Kelly, glad you are warm and comfy. I just put some brownies in the oven. Major cooking for me even out of the box....LOL! We are still in the 40's here so I am not suffering the cold you are. I have been trying to rest but have walked on the treadmill for 25 minutes yesterday and today. It is not much I know, but I figure anything is better than nothing. Bonnie...hope you have a lovely holiday. Of course, we would love some pics. Most importantly, enjoy yourself. I guess I didn't ask you if this was a cruise package or just how your Panama trip works. Hugs to all....HunkyD
-
Cold here too! Big rain coming 6-8in. we need it, but not all at once. The weekend went by so quick, what happened? Off to snuggle in.
Soft hugs to all,
-
Pouring down rain all day!!!!! We need it but OMG! My friend replaced two leaky faucets for me, so I stayed home, and kept dry.
-
Leggy, glad you have a handyman to help with plumbing. I hate plumbing and so does my DH. Glad you got your earring back though. Ex boyfriend must still have some feeling for you to come and do that nasty job. I have been very sore today. Got some staples out yesterday afternoon and really felt the pain today. I have been keeping my bed company all day. Karen, how was the movie The Proposal? I got that today along with Imagine That. Tonight is season finale of Hells Kitchen. That is two hours and both DH and myself have kept up with it. Made a hair appt. for Thursday. Husband will have to be my designated driver. Hope I feel better than I did today. Little gal that does it is so sweet. I know she will work with me. I am still bundled up like a mummy. Not very attractive. Her mom went through BC and reconstruction so she is so very good with me. Well, time for afternoon antibiotics. Later! HunkyD
-
Great news Wyoming. Hope it stays that way or gets even better.
Bonnie have a great vacation.
HunkyD....good that you are resting up.
LeggyJ...guess it is good to have an ex that will fix things for you and then you can send him on his way. I feel like a nag sometimes asking for things to be fixed.
Well, I ended up watching all the movies...The proposal...liked it with Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock. Drag me to Hell.... little hokey and can;t think of the name and just saw it...with Will Farrell where they go back in time....It was funny but I like Will Farrell. So it was a movie weekend. We had some ham and turkey as it was Thanksgiving here. So I am still stuffed.
Enjoy the week
Karen

HunkyD, I sure hope you feel better, we have been through a lot, and I guess I'm lucky I only have pain when I wear a bra.
The ex even brought lunch for me and my Mom, as well. We do still care for one another, but I think he just feels sorry for me, and he's a big softy. KKing, you did hit it on the head though, it's nice to be able to send him on his way. I'm used to taking care of myself, and doing what I want. Not having anyone the tell me what to do, when I get home from work, is blissful.
Last night my Mom said, it's nice that I have so many male friends, and it's true. I have 3 guy friends, who are like girl friends, they call me at least once a wk. if not every day, and don't get pissed if I don't answer the phone.
-
Hi to all. Hope today finds everyone feeling well, Just went and got my hair cut and highlighted again. It is still pretty spikey. I don't think there is much I can do with it at present length. One thing about it....I don't spend much time on it. Leggy, I know there is nothing easy about breast cancer, lumpectomy or mastectomy. Guess we all to deal with what we have now. I still find the mental aspect of it the hardest. Just watching on the news about the 6 year old lost after the hot air balloon episode. Sure hope they find him alive. Somewhere around 40 miles north of Denver. Kelly, can't remember what part of Colorado you are from but it is all over the news. Well, next on the agenda for me is dentist appts. Ugh...I am on the call to get in on te cancel list. Hope I can get in pretty soon. Love ya all....keep in touch. Ellie...still waiting on some pics! Vinogal...your missing in action again. HunkyD

Hi everyone, Just got in after a busy day. I am very close to where they thought the little guy went up in the air but they just reported that he was hiding in a box the whole time. Thank goodness he is ok.
My son is in his first year of school at CSU Pueblo and I had to go there yesterday to go to court with him. His first week at school he got a ticket for being a minor in possession of alcohol. Evidently he had drinks with friends, I am sure a lot! And was picked up at the fairgrounds because he was very chatty with the security police there. What a dummy! Anyway I hope it scared him enough that he will mind his P's and Q's. He has to pay some fines and take some classes.
Then I drove home (2.5 hours), met with a kids counselor for my daughter (I liked her), and went to radiation(quick and easy). Now I am home eating chocolate chip cookies while my husband and daughter are at puppy class. Wheww.
Anyone dressing up for Halloween? I need some ideas. Kelly

Kid's....Thank goodness I never got caught!
