Giving Thanks
As Thanksgiving approaches I thought we might take a moment and write down why we are blessed. I am blessed to have this web site to go to celebrate, commisserate and just complain. There are so many wonderful and caring women who support me when down, celebrate with me and make me laugh out loud. Thank you, one and all!

I'm thankful for getting my first post-treatment mammogram over with and everything was fine.

That's wonderful. I know you feel so relieved.

I'm thankful for waking up each morning to this beautiful Fall weather. And of course loving family and friends are also at the top of my list.
Good topic, thanks for starting us thinking of all we are thankful for.

I'm thankful for my family, friends, all of you wonderful ladies and the way I see life so much more clearly now. I used to worry about trivial things and now I try to relax and just enjoy the ride of life. I'm not saying that I'm glad that I got BC but I think it made me appreciate my life more.

I know I am blessed in so many ways. Some people say we are lucky. Well I know that blessed is the right thing to say. We all have times where we need to have a pity party but try and make it 5 minutes or less. No need to waste important moments. I have grown so much more in my faith and know I can make a difference in some way. Be it big or small ways. Life is more than just about me. My family keeps me going in this battle. I tell everyone they are worth it. Days I have been so sick would talk to there pics and say you are worth it. It had a way of refocusing me on a goal. So remember we are blessed.

I am truly grateful my shoulder replacement is finally healing that I have more use of my left arm.

both my kids are healthy and in a good place.---almost.
I'm on this side of the grass, my dh, retired, had, and took the time to help me thru back problems/surgery even if he didn't make it thru on bc. My daughter, too, has been more interested and helpful.
I have friends who love me and I know my kids do, too.

Last thanksgiving I was sitting at the table with a huge gauze pad under my arm after my lumpectomy--I was exhausted, scared, almost speechless with grief--I had not talked to an oncologist, I did not know that there were so many ways to treat bc and that mine was very treatable and "curable" in her words.
I am thankful for my wonderful medical team, my excellent prognosis, my pcp who found the lump, the legions of women in my own life who had traveled this road before me and held my hand, my husband who came to every appointment and treatment, my lovely young children, my body, which was very strong and withstood the treatment, my attitude, the people who came into my life at just the right time, and this website and its people, all of whom have taught me so much.
this thanksgiving will be great!! as will Halloween, Christmas, New year's and every little holiday after that!!!!
