actonel and bone mets

Options

is anyone start having bone mets while on actonel. My understanding is bisphosphonate prevent bone mets. I am asking this because I have consistant pain in my coccyx radiating to my lower back and left hip and in my left upper leg for about 5 weeks now. I saw my GP two weeks ago and she referred me for an MRI for lower back and left hip as she think it could be sciatica (which I never had in the past), but my appt is only in two weeks (oct 16). So I am very worry about bone mets, should I call my oncologist to let her know about my pain and request a bone scan or wait for my MRI. Is anyone had the same symptoms and turn out to be only sciatica and anyone got bone mets while on actonel.

 thanks

Sig

Sig - it wouldn't hurt to call your Onc to keep her in the picture, and also to see if you could get tested sooner. 10 days seems like a long time to have to wait. Wishing you the best.
