Just a worrisome pain, probably.

Why is it every ache and pain now makes you worry.  I was diagnosed with DCIS in January and then had surgery and radiation.  It was non-invasive but still things make you worry.

I know this sounds crazy but for the past 2 weeks I have had pain in my thumb joint of my right hand.  Today it is worse than it has been.  There is a small knot on the joint.  I'm thinking arthritis perhaps.  I really hate to call the dr. and say my thumb joint hurts.  I am also taking tamoxifen.

One of the side effects of tamox is joint pain (see the link below) and just about everyone on it complains about it.  But don't hestitiate to call the doctor - for this or anything else. Remain vigilant and aware of your own body and if something changes, then investigate it b/c if there is a recurrence, early detection will be your best defense.

    Ann, check out this site:http://www.imaginis.com/548private/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000513.html

Seems tamoxifen can cause joint pain and swelling, especially in the hands.

I know how you feel. Everytime I get an ache or pain I wonder......is it back?  Sue

I am on taxoxifen and I get joint tenderness in my anckles off and on.   Usually it comes and goes.  When it comes to pain, I usually follow the two week rule and then stretch it to three weeks....and call.     I have currently have a pain in my left ribs.  I had mets in my right ribs.   So I wake up obsessing about it the last few days.  THEN, I think back.  Oh, I did a ton of yard work this weekend.   It is probably sore muscles and not rib mets.   It is hard not to freak out.    So, sometimes you need to come here and we can tell you to relax.  If your pain is getting worse, I would get it checked.  Remember though that b/c patients also get other thinigs like arthritis, pulled muscles, flu.
