Sam1991 - I'm just walking in front of my home for now and when I go shopping.  I drove for the first time on Monday and that was a little challenge since my range of motion for my arms is not all there.  Getting better though!!  I go back to work on the 30th but from home for a couple of weeks. I'll get my prothesis soon (hopefully-still healing wounds). It'll be nice to get back to some form of normality.

I copied this from another post several months ago....I hope it helps you...

1. Lay on your back on the bed or any flat surface. Extend your arms straight up so that your finger tips are pointing to the ceiling and your thumbs pointing to your head (starting position). Slowly lower your arms toward your head until your thumbs touch the bed (or as far as you can go). Hold for a slow count of 5 return to starting position. Do 10 repetitions.

2. In the same position, slowly lower your arms out to the side (as if you were going to make a snow angel). Hold for a slow count of 5, return to starting position. Do 10 reps.

3. Stand in a door way. Place your forearms on the door frame with your triceps perpendicular to the floor. Extend one foot slightly in front of you. This is your starting position. Slowly lean forward as far as you are able. Hold for a slow count of 5, return to starting position. Do 10 reps.

4. Similar to the position in #3 above, the only difference is raise your forearms up the door frame as far as you are able. Hold for a slow count of 5, return to starting position. Do 10 reps.

I did these four exercises twice a day (in the morning and evening) and I noticed a big difference in 2-3 days. Once I returned to work (4 weeks after surgery) I only do them once a day but when I get a fill, I do them twice a day the day of and the day after the fill.

Thanks for the advise geneskirt. Physical therapy helps very little. Was informed it would take along time to have relief. I have heard that ultrasound can be used for capsular contractures. I had a therapist tell me that ultrasound was contraindicated for cancer pts. Any one know about this?Thank goodness at present time, my scar tissue is around site where drain tubes were and not around implant.

I had lots of discomfort after my second fill and I've heard others say the same. My third fill last week was easy. Took a flexril and half a hydrocodone an hour before, and again that night before bed. I've been good ever since, except when I sneeze which seems to be all the time. Allergy season where I live is in full spate. As soon as I sneeze everything around the TEs contract and I'm crossing my arms over the foobs and pressing against them. That seems to help.

KItty-- I found the sports bras at Walmart. They are super and I can put a little filler in the front so I don't look so flat and odd in t-shirts.

Brenda--I have two little shoulder pads that are just the right size and when I tuck them into the bra they stay put just fine. But I think you could use almost anything to give a little projection on top of our hamburger-bun boobs. Experiment. Your not very far out of surgery are you. Do you have anything in your implants yet? I'm at 300cc now and aside from being real flat on top, I'm getting a little projection. It sure sucks wearing the same things over and over, huh?

Hi to Everyone;  I had a fill on Friday.   90cc on the radiated side.  And 60 on the other side.  The PS did this because the radiated side is not stretching as well as the other side.  So it looks smaller.   The expander in the radiated side is not stretching the skin on the bottom part of my foob.  In turn this is causing the expander to sit higher on my chest, making a very noticeable difference.  FYI   I had bilat lat flap.  Should I worry?  The PS says he will fix any problems with the next surgery.  Thank you

A little achy, but still no pain.  My PS is a genius.

juiliree - my first expansion was really painful.  I've had 2 more since then and each one was a little easier than the last.  Let's hope that continues!  I got the cooler strapped to my chest feeling the first few weeks.  It's gone away for the most part.

Congrats on your first post!  I hope it the first of many connections with others!

I had B/L Mx last November and 'delayed reconstruction. My expander surgery was in August and have just completed my fill process.  I had experienced and read all sorts of sensations included the ones you have mentioned.  I equate the 'filling' sensation to the 'letdown' feeling i had when breastfeeding my kids.  I think it may be nerves healing and sensations restoring.  Also, i have read many women's posts describing the cold liquid rush that can happen.  For some, they describe it as a 'creepy' feeling.  I just experienced about an hour ago out of the blue.  I have also had phantom 'nipple' like sensations since my expanders were filled to over 75%.  This is strange timing for me, as up until now, i would have said i am more numb than anything.  These have to be nerves.... and i think its a good and healthy sign. 

Different women experieince different amts of pain or numbness, but i was told the body will rregenerate nerves for up to 2 years!  You must be a quick and healthy healer

Hi Ladies, I'm new on this site as well and  hope you can answer this question for me?  Input is more than welcomed!  I had a MX with TX and alloderm on September 9th and to date I'm up to 600cc, my next scheduled fill is next Tuesday... with these fills I feel lopsided, part of my filled breast seems to be under my arm pit. Will this change with a couple of more fills?  In my clevage area the skin looks awful, the only way I can describe it is the skin is indented, if the fill wasn't under my arm pit I'm sure it wouldn't look so bad, will this change as the skin softens??   I'm always trying to think positive but it almost makes me think it was put in wrong.

Thank you so much for replying, my exhange will January for me if all goes well.  On December 27th I will be taking a holiday for 10 days to a warm climate, and....this may sound very vain, but I'm not sure what to do with my boobs!  Actually, vanity is probably the wrong word as my breasts were a part of me that I am grieving.

I also will need a letter from my PS about the expanders, he told me he had a patient that just came back from a trip and in the security section you walk through went off like fireworks and she had to explain about the expanders.  At least I will be prepared for that in case it happens.

I appreciate the feed back, I didn't realize that they could be all over the place.  My ps's nurse told me they will look like a work of art when done!
