    My MIL was diagnosed with breast cancer in spring of '08 and had a double mastectomy shorty after.  She had her reconstructive surgery done three weeks ago and two days later had symptoms that warranted going to the hospital.  She was told she has 13-15 lesions on her brain an 1 on each lung - all inoperable.  She was given many differing opinions on her life expectancy, the lowest being 6-7 months.  She wants me to go to her appointment with her oncologist on the 15th and I'd like to know some questions I can ask that maybe she won't think of.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Jen,

    I don't know much about brain mets -- but I'd ask about gamma knife, chemo. I think you should post this question in the forum Just Diagnosed with a Recurrence or Metastasis to make sure you get the broadest audience for this question.  Also do a search on this site for brain mets.
