bra solution for diff sized breasts

Options

I had a mastectomy (single) 3 yrs ago and just had the DIEP recon 3 weeks ago. For the past 3 years I had a slicon breastform that I wore in my bra on one side, but now I have a reconstructed breast which is smaller and higher (!) than my natural one. it will be another 4-5 months until I can do stage 2 of the PS to reduce and raise the other breast.

As it is only 3 weeks post-op, I am still only wearing "training-type" bras, for support, but no pressure. However, I am too large and lopsided to do this for another 4 months (and keep coming up with creative cover up clothing)

I'd appreciate any suggestions!

    Hi Lesleyl!

I am 1 1/2 years out of a unilateral and bec. of the ongoing prophy/no prophy debate, and my kids' college schedule I have decided to be lopsided until next summer.  I soooo can relate!

I have some great fixes; I kept the Softee brand camisole inserts.  I took most of the stuffing out of one and configured it into a more breast like shape, more like a teardrop.

I wear a sports bra, Champion, in a a38 D to accomodate the larger girl (and she is 38D, newbie is 38B/C, and as you said perky.  she is also nippleless as of yet.  Well, anyway, I put this reshaped softee pad in the recon girl and I am comfy, supported and EVEN, thank god.  If I want to wear a form fitting outfit, I put a silicone petal on the nipple on my non recon girl.  This works perfectly.

I also have some Walcoal bras that have built in padding.  With that and the softee insert, it looks perfect, even with a hubby boob check.  Ask yourPS when you can have some pressure, I have been doing this for so long now, and will continue to do it.  It's become second nature, and NO one, I mean no one, can tell a thing.

    good luck!!

I think to shop around looking at "breast enhancers." There are a lot of different ones out there, hopefully one will fill in where you need it.

Some companies make partial prosthesis that help. They tend to cost more than the enhancers you see so many places so it's worth it to fool around with those.

I had good luck with something from this place, but it took a fair amount of trial and error. For just a couple of months time you can probably work something out locally.
