Hair loss-odd qsn

malaika, you might get more replies if you post this on the Chemotherapy forum. More women going through chemo hang out there, I think.

I did not have your chemo regimen -- I had 4 rounds of Taxotere & Cytoxan.  Taxol/Carboplatin (with or without Herceptin) might have its own peculiar set of SE's, including the sequence of hair loss.  In any case, the hair on my head (scalp hair) was the first to go.  It began loosening around day 13 of my first round. By day 14 it was coming out in small tufts, with some hairs still held tightly to my scalp.  By days 15 and 16, all my scalp hair was coming out pretty easily.  By day 21, I had a scraggly fringe of hair on my head -- that was it.

The other body hair took longer to go, and I don't recall the exact sequence. I had some arm and leg hair well into my 3rd or 4th round of chemo, and then it started to pull out easily. Pubic hair just disappeared one day about that same time -- I just noticed it was gone.  My eyebrows and eyelashes hung on until a few weeks after my last dose of chemo, and then they all fell out.  They grew back quickly, but fell out again ... and again ... and yet again!

I eventually lost all my hair, but it's all grown back now.
