Just got my path report today!

Hi Every TNBC ladies,

I just got my path. report today. I did Axillary dissection and Partial Mastectomy last week, and there is no evidence of residual malignancy in th partial breast resection and five negative nodes. The mass was 10cmx10cm when i was diagnosed and I did the neoadj. Chemo.  I had completely reposon with chemo. I am so happy with that, but worry if i don't do the Mastectomy, if there is any chance that still have residual cancer in my breast.My BS said i will have radiation in two weeks. Is there any sisters with larger toumor did the Neoaduj Chemo and don't need to have Mastectomy and doing great?

    So happy for you that you got a good path report. I would go for mastectomy and immediate reconstruction because they cannot see single cells in the breast.

     Thanks! But my BS said i don't need any surgery right now, i am going to have radiation next, or may be more Chemo after.

    I was diagnosed in 3/2003.  I am also Triple Negative.  My tumor was 3.5 cent.  I had 8 chemo treatments before surgery, a lumpectomy and full node dissection.  The reason for radiation is to get rid of any cancer cells in the breast.  Some ladies want a  mastectomy and others go for the lumpectomy.  I was told that the survival rate is the same so I went for the lumpectomy.  It is a personal decision.  Good luck.  Hugs, JoAnn

    Thank you for your reply, Did you have more Chemo after the surgery. My onc said i may need more Chemo, if the Chemo can lower the recurr. rate, then i am want to do more Chemo.
