Feeling lousy
I wondered if anyone else had trouble with bleeding hemorrhoids during chemo? I feel awful. I got my first neulasta shot and I have so many aches and pains all over. I did the claritin and aleve but now I am bleeding when I go to the bathroom. I'm not sure if aleve acts like aspirin but I am gonna stop taking it till I see my onc. I am going to ask for the neupogen from now on. Oh I feel so horrible. I am nauseated, my scalp burns, I have sores in my mouth, my heartburn feels like a volcano, and I just want to sleep till this is all over. I have 4 more treatments left. How will I ever get thru this? I feel like such a burden to my family because I have no energy to do anything. This just brings me back to the anger I feel for getting cancer in the first place. i just needed to verbalize my frustrations.

Sorry you are feeling lousy. I just tried to post a message to you so here it goes again.
Try Aquaphor for your bum. It provides a shield to ease irritation. It worked very well for me. Also, wipe with gentle baby wipes and soft toilet paper. Keep the area dry.
Also, for heartburn try taking Pepcid. It was recommended by my oncologist. I used it during treatment when I needed and it worked well too.
Hugs to you! I know you'll feel better soon,
Lorrie

Thanks I'll try these remedies. I still have a fever today. It's only 99.6 but every bone in my body hurts. I think it's probably that neulasta shot.

I just had my first chemo treatment friday a week ago. I felt awful for a week. The shot made me ache for three days and then it went away. I am being given TC and getting a port for herceptin this friday. I was dehydrated and super dizzy and light headed most of the week. Got fluids twice. I need to get back to teaching this week but still have a rapid pulse rate... Since I am doing this just for prevention I am not sure if the rapid heart beat will be permanent or not???? Did a lumpectomy for a less than 1 cm tumor of mucinous cancer, but had DCIS in one margin. Did a resection and it STILL had some in there so went for the mastectomy in August.. The oncotype said I was 22 ( cut off 18) so there is the reason for chemo... They said it was HER2 positive, then oncotype said not and a third test said yes.... I am wondering if the chemo is worth the lack of being able to work and if the dizzines and rapid heartbeat will ever go away.. Only 3 treatments left and then the tamoxifen and herceptin.. No reconstruct until after the herceptin.. can't do implants but can do DIEP.. Will wait 1 year for that... Not in the nodes.. I hope you feel better... take tylenol and sleep... AND DRINK lots of water...
