uplifting/funny movies

I know what's uplifting and/or funny to one person may not be to another, but still, I'm looking for your suggestions... I can't bear to watch things that are overly depressing or have a lot of violence in them (although for some reason I can get sucked into the Die Hard movies every time) and need some ideas.  Some examples of humor I don't like:  Ben Stiller and Adam Sandler just aren't that funny to me, nor is most slapstick (although I love Sleeper, which is not only slapstick but terribly corny!).  Lately I've enjoyed most of the Harry Potter movies, The Secret Garden (oh, I see a kid's theme emerging!) and movies like Life is Beautiful, 4 Weddings and a Funeral... any ideas for me?  Because I'm caregiving for my mom while I'm dealing with my own cancer, I need to be home at night, so I have time on my hands to watch movies and knit.  Thanks for any ideas!!
