I am thinking of taking my sister to the Healing Garden in Massachusettes, wondering if anyone has had a personal experience , I am desperate to find some place she can find some emotional comfort, it sounds like a wonderful place but would like  your opinion.

Thanks,

Deb

I'm from MA and have heard of this place.  I just looked it up on the web and think it looks very nice but you have to be sure your sister enjoys this sort of experience.  I wouldn't have any interest in going there.

I did notice that Mary Aframe from the Women's Image Center is on the roster.  I know  Mary personally and she is a lovely, caring woman.  Extremely helpful in  matters of wigs, prostheses, etc. and expert at fitting, insurance matters.  A good person to know.  She has offices in Worcester and, I think, Fitchburg, etc. http://www.thewomensimagecenter.com/ You can make an appt. with her exclusive of the Healing Garden.

    Thanks Abba,

She does have an interest which is a good thing at this point, she has had no interest in ANYTHING since DX, I  just wanted some feedback on what to expect, any website can make anything sound good. Thanks for the info about Mary Aframe.

I've been to the Healing Garden.  The place is beautiful.  You can walk the grounds.  They offer art classes, yoga, reflexology, massage, counseling and groups.  So many good things to help a breast cancer patient.  I would highly, highly recommend going there.  All services are offered on a sliding scale so money is never an issue.  They are having a walk for the Healing Garden in October too!

Oh they are open to anything.  It's all about the patient's wellbeing and happiness.
