    Good Morning all.....

I need to share something with you. The last 2 weeks to be exact I scared myself to death.

I cant take it anymore. I have this pain in my lumpectomy side, i press it it hurts there is always this achy feeling sometimes its sharp  even when i don't press it it hurts. I know i am not imagining it. Thought would go away but it didn't.

Maybe its nothing , maybe its something. I think I waited long enough so I called my oncologist. I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon. I really tried not to panic but its not working anymore. I needed to write because I'm always terrified of the unknown. It didn't really make me feel better that

I'm sharing this with you guys, But you are the only one who can understand my anxiety.

    God bless all my friends.

    Frown Sheila

    Sheila,

Thank God you called your Onc!!  I can imagine how much anxiety you have right now.  You made the right decision, though.  Just try and get through today, keep busy, and tomorrow will be here before you know it.

Do you have someone to go to the appointment with you?  Perhaps today you could write down a list to bring to your onc.  Like, when did you first start to notice the pain, the type of pain, sharp or dull etc.

I truly hope it is nothing but know that you made the right decision to call your doctor.

Please continue to coem here and vent or voice your anxieties.

    HUGS!!!!!!!

    Linda

Okay, This the story. When i was doing wash oncologist's office called and left a message, called back left one with a live person. My DR calls me back saying the pain is absolutely not related to cancer and he wouldn't be able to help. Since i had a diagnostic mammo in June and saw the BS 3 weeks ago. HE told me to call the surgeon and i did his nurse tells me Oh No he is going away for 3 weeks starting tomorrow. Since i had a good DR patient relationship I asked if he could just call me back, finally 15 minutes ago the phone rang its him. I described it he said that he had absolutely no concern about the pain, he asked me if the skin color was different than before and its not. He said to me <it is very common the lumpectomy side still adjusts itself> I will take Advil he really calmed my nerves>

    The End.

I am really so so sorry I almost lost it. You are all wonderful caring people the last thing I want to do is come to these boards after being a survivor upset my friends.

    THANK YOUSmile THANK YOUSmile

    I appreciate all of you.

    Wink Sheila

So my trouble making cat has managed to steal the "h" key from my laptop!!??

There is just a hole. It still makes an "H", you don't think she swallowed it do you? I don't want that job... Looking for the key. I know it was her because she was sleeping on it this morning when I woke & it was going "beep beep beep"...she had twenty screens open.

    *sigh"

Two laptops down to the cat.

My little male finch is just crying with grief this morning, I've had them 5 years, his mate died last night...should I buy him another? He loved her so, they spent her whole life building nests and grooming each other & laying eggs...never hatched one, but had fun trying ;)

I don't know much about finches, I am more of a chicken & parrot & dog girl :(

Seyla! So glad for the good news. I am still worried about my bone scan having uptake, but I see another oncologist on Friday, just to get a second opinion on everything. I already go to one of the top centers in the country, but I left my lumps for over 5 years under the advice of doctors, so I am having trust issues.

My laptop is missing the A key!!!  When I post I have to double check because if you don't hit it in the right spot, it doesn't work.

Dawn, dont blame you on the trust issues.  WHy did you have bone scans done?  Did they think it spread.  God, I hope not!!

My onco did them as a baseline. I had uptake in the sternum, she said it was not mets but injury related from the 3 surgeries I had on my breast in the previous 6 weeks. *shrug*

She is the top of her game, a professor of oncology at UAB....does nothing but breast cancer. She is lead investigator on the Zometa trials...I have a hard time not trusting her judgement, but could they have really bumped my breastbone during surgery?

Someone said they scrape the tissue from your ribs? I don't know, I have never seen it done. My oncologist says she has seen them break ribs! It does feel a little bruised & has NEVER hurt before?? Who knows?

My son's middle name is Dalton after Patrick Swayze in Roadhouse. We thought he'd be bigger ;)

I wanted to name him Marshall Dillan. My DH wouldn't go for it & suggested Miss Kitty for our next daughter.

My sons name is Cameron James after James Cameron.  My DH is a movie fanatic.  BTW, my DH is Kurt Douglas, not Kirk, but close enough.

I have never heard about breaking ribs etc.  Ugh!!  I have nerve damage in my shoulder from the SNB, which suxs big time.  I've heard others have similiar pains.

Shelia how about calling your gyn. They may help you by seeing there is concern and send you for a scan. I would try that route worth a try. It may be nothing but when you are concered it will put your mind at ease. Bless you dear lady .

Try not to feel the area to check it over and over. That may make it sorer. I know hard to do.

Ok now breath in and out slowly. Relax and feel a peace come over you. God is in control and is there with you. Huugssss.
