LCIS and Atropic Vaginitis

I was diagnosed with LCIS 5 years ago yesterday.  I am now 50 years old.  I had a total hysterectomy 9mths. before my LCIS dx and was on HRT up until that time. I have had 3 excisional biopsies, taken tamoxifen and have been closely monitored as my treatment choice. I just recently had a stereotactic biopsy for calcifications.  All was fine.

However, gradually over the last 6 mths. or so I have been having painful intercourse followed by bleeding.  I finally went to get checked out and  have dx of atrophic vaginitis.Treatment generally involves estrogen creams etc...except not really recommended in those of us at high risk.   Does anyone have any thoughts or helpful hints regarding a non hormonal treatment?  Or perhaps can point me in a direction of some helpful reading material?  My doc has had me use Replens and lubricants.  It just doesn't seem to be helping much.  Anybody out there with any thoughts or advice?

Not sure if I will be of help-I have used the replens-it helps some--also you might try the vitamin E suppositorys( you can buy them on line)--they seem to help me.  I would like to know if you have any new ideas too

Thanks for the vitamin E idea.  I will check into that and also let you know if I come up with any other solutions.

Talk to your oncologist if you have one as many of us are being give the Estring because it does not raise the estradiol level above 10 . One of the women on this board just did a clinical trial and her blood level did not rise. Also, read the thread " I Want My Mojo back" there are a million and one recommendations.

Thank you for letting me know about "I Want My Mojo Back"...you are right there are a million and one recommendations...and quite a lot of humor!  I will check with the oncologist about the Estring, and see what he has to say.
