I have had two rounds of Taxol and I'm suffering unbearable itching of my hands. Drs recommended Benadryl cream (didn't work) Atarax (didn't work) and Benadryl capsule (didn't work) I'm afraid I going to overdose. Any suggestions. I'm desperate.

Well, I just finished with my final treatment of A/C on August 14th, and Friday I started with my first of four treatments of Taxol.  If all stays on schedule, I will finish with my chemo on November 6, 2009.  I noticed two things so far.  One, the nausea was nothing like it was with A/C, which allowed me to eat basicially what I wanted which was nice, but the other thing was the annoying pain in my bones and muscles that radiated from my hips down to the bottoms of my feet.  I tried taking Ibuprophen and Advil, but the pain was too intense.  I will call the doctor this week if the pain has not subsided as I cannot imagine this every time I get treatment. So far no neuropathy, but it's only been two days.  Everyone keeps telling me that I'm more than halfway there, but as you all know when we're the ones going through it, it just can't get over fast enough.

Blessings to All.  I am so happy I have you girls to relate to.  Thank you.

Thank God I'm not going crazy...I'm 37 and the A/C was awful, but...I finished my Taxol 4 weeks ago, and for the past 3 1/2 weeks my hands and feet get so itchy I could literally jump right out of my skin. I'm eating Benadryl like candy. I'm so glad to see I am not alone.
