Great books

I thought when I went through cancer (ten years ago), it was really hard to find books that were not "doomsday." And I made it my goal to try and find one, at the time there was just not any to be found. So, I have written a book, it has my comical stories of "weird" things that happened during cancer (after all they happen, and no one tells us about those), and it has a very unique way of dealing with your spirit and your emotions. When I lost my hair, I drew pictures of hair of the bathroom mirror to help lift my spirits and deal with what I was feeling that day. I have put this into a book to help others and the book itself even comes equipped with markers to get you started! I have also written and directed a music video, this video is by cancer survivors for cancer survivors and is very uplifting and helps the readers and the viewers learn how to use my method. I think the best thing to do is just take a look and let me know what you think. My website is: www.QuietAngelPublishing.comand the video is currently on YouTube the link is: http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=9choRJAmoYA I hope you will take a look and let me know what you think...I believe it is really worth your time!

Say Goodbye by Lisa Gardner

I didn't see listed "Why I wore Lipstick to My Mastectomy" - the author's first name is Geralyn (can't recall last name and I don't have book with me). This would be very inspirational for young women. She was 27, I think, upon diagnosis. I can't tell you the ending, but it is a positive one. She is very open about the emotional component throughout the book and her journaling of courage and strength and reality helped me so much when I was facing my surgery and treatment. I am 20 years her senior, but it still spoke to me.
Also just finished the book everyone's been mentioning - The Middle Place - another terrific read, especially for any middle-aged folks who have both children to take care of and aging parents to care for.

I also loved "The Middle Place" and the "Crazy, Sexy Cancer" books. "Breast Cancer Husband" was a great gift to my husband and helped him understand my treatment and possible side effects.

Hi Everyone,
I was surprised not to see anything by Dr. Bernie Seigle. His first book, Love Medicine and Miracles is a classic. He has a support group nationally called ECaP. I attend his local group which he personally facilitates as he lives nearby. He was a surgeon treating cancer patients for many years at Yale New Haven Hospital and changed the way cancer patients are treated and also how cancer patients look at cancer and healing. He also has books for children. Check him out on the web.

Hello,
I am reading The FORCE Program, by Jeff Berman, Fran Fleegler, M.D., and John Hanc.
(The proven way to fight cancer through physical activity and exercise.) It is a book that
stresses getting started at your own level and ability. I'm enjoying it so far, and plan to
use the program. Right now, I am just walking, and using some light weights, and a
rebounder.
