Clinical Trial with Psilocybin for Cancer Anxiety

Greetings! I'm in a unique position to support recruitment for a current cancer anxiety trial at the John Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore because I am the study coordinator for a similar trial that is concluding in Los Angeles at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Ironically, I was diagnosed at age 40 with breast cancer (IDC Stage I) five months after I started working on the study.

Since January 2006, I worked with participants who had cancer and anxiety. We provided pure psilocybin, one of the ingredients in "magic" mushrooms, in a clinical setting with therapeutic intentions. The medicine was tolerated well, and no one had a "bad trip." Overall, people reported having a positive experience, and some found it helpful with coping in general and dealing with deep issues.

Anyone who is interested in possibly participating should be aware that this is an anxiety study. It is not for treating cancer.

For more information, please click this link: http://www.bpru.org/cancer/insight/ (The age range for this study is 18-70, and participants need to be able to travel to Baltimore several times. They do not need to have metastatic disease or still be in treatment for this trial if they meet the anxiety requirement.)

Kind Regards,

Alicia

Oh no! I don't want to spam. I'm a real person, and I'm just trying to let people know about this study. What should I do that would be more appropriate? So sorry if I did something wrong.
