Yes, Raye, that's exactly what I was thinking.  Not too much with the earrings, some pretty gold earrings, maybe a lacy filagree or something a little dangly, but definitely not overboard.  Not with that bracelet.

Tina, that's a really pretty bracelet!!  Beth must have loved it!

I have to say, this is getting to be my favorite thread - all this talk about everything I love!

You girls are just too fashionable for me, the old fuddy duddy. Wink

Here's my idea of what earrings to wear with that gown.  No necklace, of course.

I'll take any of the loops or triple loop.  Perfect.

    Okay, see you later. xox

I pestered my surgeon's office & they, god bless them, are just as persistent as I am, so they got the mamm report & its NEGATIVE!!!

Tina, you take good care for your next big thing.

Michelle, love those cuffs, love the dress.  I love the first and the last cuff you showed.  If you could get earrings that went with that bejeweled gold cuff, that would look fabulous.

Raye, I love those shoes!!  Bet you're not surprised!!  LOL

I had a good couple of days: neg. mammo, and then the next day, on my BD, my dh took me to the city for dinner and my fav: a little shopping.  I found a beautiful nightie (hospital next month)  black and white patterned and A-line---on sale for 13 but further reduced to $8 --whee.

I had a gift card at Dillards and splurged on a Dior mascara, and a pair of leopard flats I'v been thinking about for 4 years ever since I saw a woman in a pair when waiting for a mammo.  I DO NOT remember the last time I paid full price---or even Looked , at dept store shoes.  TJMaxx and I have been having an affair for decades.  (ok, I bought 7 pairs in Italy several years ago.  LOL)

I also scored at Tuesday Morning: a set of king sheets (online for $400) for $50!  Yummy.  Even the MAN WHO NEVER SHOPS found the kind of slinky cotton golf shirts he loves at Steinmart and bought 3!  Amazing.

In the city the day before, after the mammo, I scored (per another gift card) some really high end hair care products--likely wouldn't have bought them if not for the card.  But I am almost out of the stuff I have.

Well, I guess that makes up for the shopping ":dry spell" I've had for 6 mos due to my back problems. AND had a great dinner out!

Dotti, good to see you again.  What surgery coming up?  I advise taking a nice robe that you can throw on over the flapping johnnie.  Maybe I will become a millionaire designing and making those as no one else seems to be doing it.

My free lat  flap was Thursday, 10 hours, all is well and I'm home.  Will check in again soon.

    Good for you.

Ok guys, here is the new dress I ordered - bohemian/nightgown. For play only: shopping, lunch - no work, as it is short. Of course, a cami will be required. I thought I could maybe wear with flat strappy sandles?

thanks for the kind wishes---and I love the dress.  Now, where is that catalog with the nice little bodies one can order??????

TEN FREEKIN' HOURS, wow, I'm glad you are home and doing ok.  Just remember to take care and that it takes a week to recover from each hour of surgery (don't know where I heard or read that?)

I'm up for some back surgery to let me be able to walk more than 10 yards and stand more than 10min without pain in back, hips, buttocks, thighs and groin.  Hmmm, novel idea!  Have multiple diagnosis to work with and so going to a "mecca" in Memphis to a guy who teaches the newer less invasive back surgery.  We begin the party on Sept 25---those guys stay as busy as plastic surgeons!

And min will only be 6 or so hours!

Okay, I'm up to take my dose of cephalexin and have a diet Coke. Had a caffeine headache as I've been off it since surgey except for a cup of tea each day.  Well, this headache wasn't leaving my left forehead, so I said fork it and popped a can.  So much for being a compliant patient.

Dotti, good luck with your back surgery.  Sounds as if avoiding it would be more pain than enduring it.

I feel great other than the headache.  Probably will try to do some work tomorrow afternoon after coming home from the follow up visit.  Did I mention that one of the docs said to the whole rounds team that I was the toughest cookie he'd ever come across in his years as a physician?  LOL  Small but full of it.

Did find a little problem.  I was having an itch in the middle of my back near my waistline and when I looked in the mirror I saw and felt a small bubble of dark liquid under that massive tape they use on you to keep dressings in place.  I had my husband peel back the tape to that place (it was right near the edge) to release the fluid.  There was a small abraded area there, no sign of infection yet just "raw meat" according to him.  (He could never have been a brain surgeon.)

I had him hit it with some h2o2 and put a bandaid over it.  Has not been weeping or anything since.  I was wondering what the heck it was from since it wasn't near any incision then it dawned on me that they probably use some sort of applicator to apply that tape (think serrated edge that cuts Scotch tape) and they knicked my skin on that go-round.  I'll ask the ps tomorrow.  Anyway, it goes to show how any crazy thing can happen to us in surgery.  Yikes!

It also looks like I am too late with my idea about hospital johnnies.  Read this about the exploding market for hospital togs. http://www.capecodonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071213/LIFE/712130301

Raye, can't forget to mention that dress is way cute.  BTW, how can people with big boobies keep them frompopping out of it???

I had ordered a pair of the new curvy fit jeans from LLBean before going to the joint last week and they arrived while I was in.  Tried them on today and guess what?  Butt fits but crotch is too short and uncomfortable and the thighs/legs are waaayyy too big.  They're going back tomorrow.

Oh, Tina, sweetie, thanks for updating us on how you're doing.  Lordy, lordy.  You're a lot braver than I.

Dotti, don't know your dx's but I had a diskectomy 5 years ago that saved my life & was completely successful & I've treated lots of people who have had much more extensive back surgery from a select few neuro and ortho surgeons around here who are good & they've had great results.  Got their lives back.  No one can describe how excrutiating that pinched nerve pain down the legs is.  Just have to experience it.  Hope I never do again.  Had it in the neck once, too, with pain, numbness, stabbing, burning, you-name-it down my left arm.  Good luck!

Tina, gals with big boobies just ought not wear the same stuff us no-boob or small-boob gals can wear.  After all, we ought to have some advantages, too, since big boobs are always getting the press most of the time.  LOL

I am one of the big body, small boobed people who cannot wear a dress like the one Raye put up but it is gorgeous.

Awhile back there was a discussion about camisoles that were shorter and would protect our modesty.  I finally found a stretch lace cropped camisole online that I like, although I am not going to pay $45 for it. It is on http://www.hipundies.com/shop/search.php?xSearch=cropped+camisole   I have printed a picture of the pink one and will take it to my sister. Since I have found that I don't like wearing bra's unless absolutely necessary and the full length camisoles are too hot for the summer months my sister has agreed to try and help make/design something that I like out of stretch lace and this was the most promising style that I have found. I will let you know how our experimental camisole turns out in a couple of weeks.

    Sheila, that is really cute!

I haven't moved much on my project what with all the surgeries and getting tons of work done before being laid up for almost 2 months (no lifting, that is).  Pretty unhappy about all that, but that's life.

The weather here turned from hot and humid and ugly to cool and dry overnight.  I actuall have real clothes on today!  Not just wisps of things.  Let me tell you, it isn't fun dragging drains and pinning them up under a big top when it's hot, so life is now much better. Smile

All your favorite Ugly Betty apparel.  I esp. love the poncho.  The scary thing is that I would definitely carry the tote!  Love it.

Barbe1958 - I hear you!!  I can resist most accessories, even, gasp, shoes, but omg, show me a really cute purse or tote, the bigger, the better, and I'm a goner!!

Starting to work out wardrobe ideas for the Dreamball trip next month - I just received the agenda and it's jam packed with lunches and dinners every day, plus media interviews - and since I have a background in marketing, I was asked to do the 2-hour radio and possible TV interviews with last year's winner.  Business casual was what I was told about dress, but 'cmon, for TV?  I found a really pretty Vera Wang dress on Kohls that I ordered for the media thing, and am planning simple but elegant outfits for the two dinners and lunches based around wide leg black pants and different tops.  I'll need two suitcases - one for the Dreamball events, and one for the weekend in NYC!

Tina - how are you feeling? I agree - you are one tough little cookie. Ugly Betty stuff, eh? Ole indeed!  I love Sienna Miller's style. Just LOVE IT. Short dresses with tights and cool shoes. I will try and find a pic to post. EDITED TO ADD: sorry for the abrupt change of topic- Sienna Miller has nothing to do with Ugly Betty - one of those mornings.

Sheila, love the half cami, but alas - cannot wear as no boobies on this bod. But very cute. On that vein (is this the right "vein" for the phrase?), I think I am going to get some of those little cotton bralettes to wear around under tshirts, etc. when I am not wearing my strap on boobies.

Speaking of cool, it is low 60's this am and rainy. Fall arrived literally overnight. What a summer.

My dress arrived. Not sure about it. I tried it one with some high flat black boots, looked cute, but maybe too wide looking - I may send it back.

Cherev! my goodness - every day more exciting news from you girl! Radio and TV interviews?? Wow. How fun. I agree, for the TV dress it up a bit.

Raye, if the dress is cotton it may not hang nicely and look stiff.... one of the reasons I don't like cotton. A dress cut on the bias will drape nicely. What's it made of?

    Cotton.

Here is the pic of it on me. It is too wide and looks stupid - not at all like the girl in the magazine! HA.  I was going to send it back for smaller size, as it makes my shoulders look narrow. I may just send it back. You have a point about the cotton.the front looks OK, but the back doesn't lie correctly AND I can get a dress at TJ for 1/2 the cost.
