Rode my bike last night, had to drag myself up to do it, very tired.  Thighs were burning, I did my exercises before from my PT and that's why the legs burned.  Better do them after!  The sheep/goats are now between the street and trail and as I was riding by, the rancher drove up and threw out hay bails...OMG, the herd came from all over just running in his direction, like a stampede!  It was the craziest thing I've ever seen.  There were a few of us just stopped and watching, one lady with her toddlers said 'this is so exciting'...we were all smiling like little kids.

Deanna, how was the dolphin therapy?  Please share!!!!!!!!!!

Spring, welcome back!  I MISSED you!

Hey, Kari, that's what I was about to ask... Where is everyone????   That incident with the sheep and goats sounds so cute.  I can't believe a rancher is running those so close to a residential neighborhood.  I would think traffic would be a concern.  Anyway, you should try to get some photos for us!   And good for you for "dragging yourself up" to exercise!

My reflexology and Dolphin Therapy were both fabulous!  I'll PM you a link to info' about the latter.  The spa owner developed it.  Yesterday she was telling me that she's in the process of getting CD's made to sell for at-home use; but I don't think it would be the same without the bed she uses that's wired for surround sound and also rocks -- like you're actually swimming underwater with the dophins.  It's really great.  I walked out of there after an hour feeling like I'd had a long weekend getaway.

Spring ~ My son is still waiting for that stone to pass.  He has surgery scheduled right after Labor Day, and we're just praying it won't be needed.  But at least he hasn't been in any pain this week.

I just did a hot, sweaty 8165 step walk.  Don't know what the temp is, but it's so very humid, which is typical for August-September here.      Deanna

OK, I'm almost back on track and "recovered" from my vacation to home readjustment!

Today I hopped on the eliptical cross-trainer before work and did 35 minutes. So almost my "normal" 40! ha. Also, during calls today I have been doing the hand/arm weights at my desk!

Tonight DH is out of the house. DD left a week or more ago, taking some of the furniture from our bonus room with her. Tonight I am going to rearrange what is left in there and consolidate DH's many piles of junk!!! (shhhhhh, don't tell him!! ha!)  So maybe this will be a little more exercise, moving furniture around the room. :)

Hi, saltykm.  How're you doing?  This board is so quiet this week.  Everyone must be out back-to-school shopping.  Deanna

SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  How cute are you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am loving that 'do'.  Don't overdo it pushing furniture around tonight.

SaltyKathy - glad you are doing better, but sorry to hear about the heel pain.  Your youngest son is getting married?  How wonderful.  Is it going to be held locally in your town?  sorry to hear about your BFF going awol, that's the pits.

Mum - CNE?  I'm clueless (canadian northeast??) hmm...my hair is dry too.

Had lunch with a BC sister, we have the same hair except hers is curlier on top. She said I've been an inspiration to her (awwwwwwwww) as I've had to endure more treatment than she, we met at my only support group meeting last Nov.  She just had her 6 month onc visit (she gets blood work every 3 mos).  She had to tell her onc to check her vit d level, which turns out is below normal.  Her onc is concerned because her ALT and AST (liver) numbers have tripled since last blood test.  He also ordered a tumor marker test for her.  BC sucks.  It was so nice to have lunch with her and talk the talk nobody else but our fellow bc sisters really understand, you know?

Hello everyone.  On my feet non stop at work today.  All I could get in was some yoga.  Maybe good anyway, been having some knee issues from all the running/walking.  I am more toned and feel good exercising, but the stupid scale sure isn't budging.

I had written my onc about my MUGA results, tumor marker tests and drinking the 2 small glasses of wine a week I have or 1 small cocktail...her response:

    Dear Kari,
The MUGA can vary somewhat from test to test so I would not worry too much about it. It is still in the normal range. There is really nothing you can do to improve it. In terms of tumor markers, they are really not very reliable in breast cancer so I tend not to use them. If you want to get one, we can do that but I have been in the situation where the marker is high and there is no cancer which creates a lot of anxiety. I have also been in the situation where the cancer has spread and the marker is normal. I think it is fine to drink in the amounts you are! Julie

Ok, leaving work soon, will get motivated!

Spring ~ Love the new pic! Your hair is so darn cute. Welcome home!

Kari ~ Funny you should mention the tumor marker test. I had blood drawn today for that for my Onc appt. next wk. Her NP ordered it. I'm a little anxious about it, & was encouraged to see that your Dr. thinks it is not very reliable & doesn't tend to use it. I have done some research, hope I'm not overly scaring myself. Glad she feels your MUGA is nothing to really worry about, love things "in the normal range."  ;)

Back on the NordicTrac skier tomorrow. DH brought one home (free!) from the teacher's lounge at the school where he works for DD #1 who has wanted one since I got mine.

saltykm - the weather in Vegas is nice is November.  It isn't hot like the summers.  The weather drops in October.   By then it should be in the 70's, maybe lower.

    Good morning cuties!

Took a bike ride last night and brought the camera this time (thanks Deanna!) before the animals leave our area.

Val, at my lunch yesterday with my fellow bc sister, she said her onc ordered the marker test due to her elevated AST/ASL counts, but he said he doesn't believe in the test much and even the maker of the test said there are flaws.  Keep us posted on your test. Hugs

Vivre, you had me wondering about the comment about the 'feeling the burn', so I did some research and emailed my onc...I emailed her about Zometa and that, here's her response:

    Dear Kari,
Some preliminary studies suggest that Zometa may be protective but we don't really know yet-which is why we are doing this study. We are not routinely giving it for that reason. There is no problem with "feeling the burn" You may produce lactic acid in your muscles but it does not change the pH of your body-that is something very difficult to do. So, exercise away! Julie

    Good morning cuties!

    I miss everyone!!!!!!!!!

Didn't get to exercise yesterday, after work went to DDs and we caught a screening of the movie Adam.  It was fun to do that, I haven't done that in over a year and a half!  A coworker/friend from our Sac office went with her sister and they sat with us.  We were chatty Kathy's!  not during the movie though...haha

Let's make it a great day!

Hi lovely ladies! I am back from my week of vacationing in two separate locations--whew! Had a great time but happy to be home. We went up the coast almost to Mendocino (about 3 hours north of San Fran). The most beautiful rugged coastline--and lots of cows and sheep! If I can figure out how to post pics I will. (Kari--any hints since you just did??) We celebrated our first anniversary! Yes, we got married a little later in life (although my DH was married once before).

We managed to get some exercise in but I am looking forward to getting back in the routine. Am sooo draggy tired today which is really annoying but want to drag my sorry butt to the gym to visit my elliptical friend, since Spring would make me look bad otherwise... :)   Also mtg a friend for 8:00am yoga Sat morning.

Kari--I laughed at your description of COLD San Fran. See, I told everyone it was cold! :) Luckily today is beautiful--sunny and warmer...

Welcome back Allie!  I missed you.  Happy 1st Anniversary, that's awesome!  You have a lot to celebrate this year.  Mendocino is so beautiful.  I've been there only one time for a friend's wedding a few years back.  I have a pic on my cube wall of DH and me at one of the wineries on the way.  Gorgeous landscape.  San Franc - gotta love those micro climates! LOL!  I do love the city.  One of my girlfriends and I are planning a day trip there either in a couple of weeks or early Oct.  Maybe if you're around we could meet!  I'll keep you posted.

For pics - you have to go to Photobucket.com or some other website and join (free) and you can upload photos there.  Once you do that, there are codes under the pics, I clicked on link options and then I copied the code for thumbnail photo under the first option.  Then you come here and click on the picture icon to the left of the smiley and then paste the code into the first box (I also put it in the 2nd box, was confused), but it worked!   Also at the top of the bco website, there is a help button that describes how to do it I think.  I'm afraid to click off now, or I'll lose this post!

Salty & Mum, didn't see your posts on this page.  66 degrees, yikes!  I hate the cold!!!  Its about 93 deg here today, hot too bad, but supposed to heat up tomorrow.  Mum - what surgery do you have coming up if you don't mind my asking.  I hear you on the LE issue, I constantly am taking my right hand (middle finger and thumb) and wrapping it around my left wrist, my own way of measuring, well that and my rings get tight and I can't wear them sometimes.  I hope you can stay motivated and not get too bored.  I wish I had a workout buddy sometimes.

I am removing my second breast or what is called a simple mast.Decided not to do recon and will not miss being lopsided. But it is surgery so I will be out of it for atleast a week depending on how long the drains are in.
