Has anyone on herceptin colored their hair?

Everything I have read states that you should wait until 6 months post chemo, but nothing about post chemo yet still getting herceptin.  If you have colored your hair, did you do anything special to protect your scalp?

My hair came in gray, and most days I don't like the color....it's kind of a bitter sweet thing, I have hair, YEAAAAA..... but its gray.

I stopped chemo August 14 last year.   I finally had enough hair to get a highlight in mid January.  My hairdresser would not color it because of the scalp but she did highlight it.   The highlight really took quick.  I kind of had pumpernickel swirl looking hair.. LOL.   since then I have had my hair colored twice.   I am on herceptin and Tykerb and no problem.

I get my hair highlighted every three months.  I get her. every three weeks. I have never had a problem.  My onc has never cautioned me against it either.

I had my hair died blond while on chemo and 2 months after the end of chemo. I am a little bit crazy about it and I recomened you to do what makes you feel good :) Take care!

I just colored my hair yesterday and I am 7 weeks past chemo and am continuing on with Herceptin. It is only about an inch long, but  I was tired of looking at all of the gray hairs mixed in with the dark. I am a hairstylist and used professional hair color.

I don't know about the herceptin, but I did color my hair as soon as it started coming back. What I found strange is that it didn't really take the first couple of times. I tried to color it dark brown but it kind of ended up looking like pencil lead/charcoal gray. It took on the third coloring.

I colored mine about7 weeks out. I started with a semi permanent. I plan on switching to the real stuff soon. I finished chemo April 15th 2009. I have always been blond and always will!!!!! Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.
