I'm sorry I haven't been on for so long, but I wanted to share with all of you that, after a courageous nearly 4-year battle, and after being in hospice since March of this year, my beautiful wife, Debbie, lost her fight on June 30, 2009.

I am thankful for all of the time we had with each other, especially the last few months in hospice, where we had time to talk about contingency planning, what with our children being so young still - 13, 12, 10, and 3.

She fought it with every fiber of her being, and we are truly blessed to have had the last few months with her, as it looked like she wasn't going to live to see the end of March.  As it was, we were still planning to go to Niagara Falls (from Pittsburgh) with our children the weekend of June 27, and didn't call it off until that Friday because she was declining so rapidly.

My prayers are with you as you continue your respective fights against this evil disease.  Thank you for all of your prayers and support.  Keep up the fight!!

Rob

Rob, thank you for sharing. As a mom, the biggest regret of dying is leaving my babies.  Do her proud. Raise those babies, and meet someone wonderful who can be a good mamma to the babes.

Thank you all so much for your kind and caring condolences.  This is not a place I hoped to be - well ever - but I do take comfort in knowing how much of a fight Deb had put up.

Please continue to pray for the kids especially, as our youngest girl (Rebekah, 10) is having the hardest time with it.

My deepest condolences, Rob on the loss of your sweet wife.  She fought the battle long and hard.  Prayers to you and to those beautiful children.  They will always know their mother was a couragous and strong lady who's body simply could not compete with the monster.  But that she will always be with them, in their hearts and minds and spirits.  Hugs to you and your children, especially to your daughter.  She will grow up knowing that women are strong and wonderful and that their families mean the world to them.

    So very sorry.

I am so sorry.  My thoughst and prayers are with you and your family.  Praying for your kids.   I have a 10 year old daughter and hearing about your kids just brings tears to my eyes.  It is so unfair.  BUT, sounds like they have great dad and you will all get through it together.    Keeping you close in prayer.

    God Bless

    Jennifer

I pray that you get the strenght that is needed to go on, your children are proof that she will alwyas be alive in them and generations to come, mourning is very personal and one should do it in there own wayl but with children you have too much to do, now Debbie is the Angel that will continue looking after her loved ones, she set an example of how to fight ,how to live and die ,I am vey sorry for your loss.

Thank you all so much.  We miss her so dearly every single hour of every single day.  I thought maybe last night would be the night our yougest girl would sleep in her own room, but I woke up this morning with her back in bed (she came in at 12:30).

We will get through this, but I know it will take a long time for us all.  Thank you all for your hugs and prayers.  I can't tell you how helpful it is just being on here.

My sincerest condolences.  I hope that Rebekah remembers her mom with love and pride.  It may take a while for the hurt to go away but remind her of the sunny days and she will remember her mother with a smile.  It hurts all of us to have an angel fly away.

    What Cancer CANNOT Do~
    It cannot cripple Love
    It cannot shatter Hope
    It cannot corrode Faith
    It cannot destroy Peace
    It cannot kill Friendship
    It cannot suppress Memories
    It cannot silence Courage
    It cannot conquer the Spirit.
    It cannot invade the Soul
    It cannot steal Eternal Life
