How do you know if you have micromets in the sentinel node?

  My sentinel node biopsy came back negative, but I have been reading how micromets or isolated tumor cells can still be present.  How do you know if your nodes were checked for this by the pathologists?

  The pathologists check the nodes thoroughly....they can tell if there is or isn't micromets present. They would have made a note on your pathology report.Yours are negative...good news!
