MRI guided biopsy in Canada needed

Hi

I am wondered if any fellow canadians out there have had a MRI guided biopsy performed in Canada?  When I try to google it, looks like the first one and only in all of Canada is in Montreal?

I recently had a breast mri done and the oncologist said that there is an area of concern that needs to be investigated, but he didn't think there was anywhere in Canada that did it.

    Did the doctor recommend it be done that way? I've never heard of it being biopsied that way either.

    Yes my oncologist suggested that a mri guided biopsy would be required, but that to his knowledge no where in Canada they do this.  As I mention above, I have found that apparently they do it in Montreal at Ville Marie Clinic.

    Having said this, since he didn't believe there was anywhere in Canada, I got the impression that he felt I should be leaning towards a bilateral mastectomy, as this are of concern needs to be addressed.

    I really wish I could help you, but I don't know anyone who's had this procedure. I sincerely hope you find someone to do it, if that's what needs to be done. I'd hate to think you had a bilat mastectomy for no reason. Can it not be done by needle biopsy?

    My oncologist called me today (yes on a Sunday, I am still in shock and impressed) to tell me that he has found a doctor in Toronto at Sunnybrook Hospital that does it.  Her name is Dr Holloway, curious if anyone knows anything about her and would share. My oncologist feels this needs to be done as an mri guided biopsy I think because it wasn't seen on mammogram or ultrasound and needs to be investigated.

    He has sent a referral and hopefully I can get in sooner rather than later.
