Yoga
Yoga really helped me through treatment & still does. I've tried various types...hatha, kripalu, hot yoga, and kundalini yoga. They're all great, and my favorite is kundalini yoga. I feel that yoga helps me centre myself & is very calming. I highly recommend it!

I second that! Great for range of motion, and the breathing is very calming. I have wanted to try Kundalini- ,maybe I will in the fall!

I agree, saved my sanity through treatment and the ONLY thing that helped with the taxotere and neulasta aches. Afraid to try the hot yoga with my lymphedema

I just walked in the door from my first ever yoga class. It was INCREDIBLE. The teacher is a 62 year old woman -- one solid, complete, fluid, powerful muscle. It was worth the price of admission just to watch her. I feel like I've just 'discovered' where I 'belong.'
WOW.
Now to make it a discipline.

I have been attending a free gentle yoga class 1-2x a week at my hospital and love it. I will miss it during August when they hve no classes. It is amazing how well I can feel with a few very very easy stretchs or breathing exercises and I love being in a class where the teacher is constantly reminding you not to hurt yourself while nagging you to perfect your simple pose. No sluching or holding hands in front of your stomach in her class- bad for the shoulders and thus bad for the breasts. No, we must stand up straight and open ourselves to the world. I have also started attending, less regularly, a tri yoga class in my neighborhood. Not as easy but still a great way to get myself in shape physically and emotionally and mentally and spritually.

It's been great for my core, especially after a failed TRAM. I can finally see definition in my stomach muscle...what's left of it! I go twice a week and love how relaxed it makes me feel. Just be sure to wear your sleeve and glove if you have LE. Yoga has aggravated my LE, must be "down dog", but I won't give up my Yoga.

I did yoga before and almost immediately after my bilat. I am so glad that I did because it really helped me recover quickly and calmed me down.

I joined a local place here called Yoga Shelter and do yoga 2 or 3 times a week. I love it.
