    I was diagnosed with ibc two and a half years ago ( just days after the birth of my daughter). I had chemo every 3 weeks for 6 months and then radiation. It then showed up in my brain a year later for which I underwent surgery and wbr. Truly I feel fortunate in thatIve tolerated the treatments  easily and I haven't felt sick and apart from loosing a bit of vision no problems. Now I notice I have a lump in my neck, yes my cancer has returned, although my onc says "it never went away" even though my blood showed low tumour markers all  year. Now he says there is nothing to do and I should wait untill "something presents itself". Does that sound right? Do I need a 2nd opinion? Please help. Also, would love to talk to someone with similar diagnosis or hear of happy survival stories.

    I just wanted to say that I am so sorry that you are being attacked again by this miserable disease. I am not experiencing a similar situation so I don't have much concrete advice - I am sure that a more knowledgeable woman will come along soon!   While I suppose that I understand what your onc. is saying, I don't think that I would be comfortable just "waiting until something else" showed up.  You have a lump on your neck - isn't that enough of a symptom?  Please consider a second opinion if possible.  Your peace of mind is too important to just wait for more problems.  I wish you the best as you fight on - take good care,Joani

    When I was first diagnosed I went online right away but everything I read was so dire I stopped pretty quick. Everyone on this site seems so well informed. I feel foolish for trusting my docs so fully (although, I've resonded well to treatments)            

     I can't help but notice that nobody ever talks about the similarities or differences between Canada and the Us viv a vis health care.
