Hello everyone! Sure is nice reading all the happy posts here isn't it!
Olivia is holding steady at about 80% better! I believe she is back to her "fighting" weight of a whopping 90 lbs....LOL She is still slighty nauseous all the time, but is able to eat and pretty much do what she wants. Still no running or bike riding, but I am still thrilled!! We go back to Wake Forest July 27th for follow-up.
We were on vacation last week and she got too hot so she had an "episode" of severe nausea, but I got her cooled off, she fell asleep and woke up feeling all better!

My plastic surgeon did a "trapese flap" to create my nipples and I will have everything else tattooed. He said yesterday that by the end of the year I should be completely done with everything! YEA!!!!!
The trapese flap looks so REAL!!!! I mean, they look just like my "real" ones (except for the color) it is amazing!!!! The surgery wasw a breeze to recover from. I never had any pain, and they healed pretty fast. So I am very pleased.
Take care and I will continue to give Olivia updates as I remember too!

Linda, you are looking very sexy in your avatar! You go girl!!!
P.S. Laura!!! You look GREAT in your avatar too!! Are those your grandchildren? They are beautiful!!!!!!!!

Yes Laura, I keep thinking I need to do pics, I just keep forgetting! I wish I had done them all along the short healing process, but just wouldnt think to when at home. I will try to get that done and posted as I am very pleased!
I love your short hair! But yes I do HATE short hair on me, so I do understand others that hate it too. You have one of those faces that looks good with any length hair. The more hair I have the better I look and feel.

Karen love the pics!.....My family took a day trip to Ruby Falls and Rock City a few years ago (actually it was the day after Sept 11 ,2001)..Just to get away from the strees of it all.....It was so peaceful and so beautiful!...Looks like you guys went on a really clear day...My pics are all foggy from fires in the valley and mtns.........So good to see Olivia looking so well!.....Please call me sometime and maybe we can get together this summer and go swimming or to a park I know in Gwinnett County.......

Moodyk13~ Love the pictures!
glad to hear that Olivia is doing so much better!

Karen
Thanks for sharing your vacation pictures......
Camille has really grown...
We use to go to Ruby Falls and Rock City all the time when I was younger. I have not been there in a long time though. I always loved the caverns.....and the swinging bridge brings back some great memories.......
take care

We took Olivia back to Wake Forest this past Monday for a re-check. She has gained all of her weight back, plus 2 pounds weighing a "whopping" 95lbs!
She has also grown one inch, woo hoo!Her check up went great, he wants her to wear compression hose......which he then said he knew would not happen....LOL... so he said her dance tights would be fine. The idea behind this is to restrict blood and fluid to her legs and keep it more towards her heart and gut. I dont know how much she will wear the tights, but it is up to her to give it a try.
He is going to do phone consult in about 6 weeks so we dont have to go back up there so often. We are scheduled to go back 10/26 right now.
S she is doing good! He said that when school starts back, if being "up" gives her problems towards the end of the day, that he would write orders for her to go half days again. She and I beleive she will do just fine going the full day since she is allowed her gatorade and pretzels in class.
Cheers and love to all and pray all are having a safe and fun summer!

It's always so lovely to read good news. I hope you are doing well too. Gentle hugs.

To anyone reading that uses the forum at breastcanswers, my entire hosting company has changed names and suspended all current customer accounts!!! I had NO warining, NO notification, etc so I am scrambling to find a new host. Until then, I am so sorry but no website.
-
Bummer! Wonder if their servers got repossessed by the credit companies.
-
moody - That's terrible! Have you tried Host Monster? They're supposed to be good! Good luck! Keep us posted.
-
Well, as it turns out, my hosting company merely changed their name and are trying to pull it off that they have sold out. But they are not very smart as the same guy is the contact info on the new name and his voice is the one still on the answering service.
So it appears that they are scamming, and I HAD to renew my account even though I had paid through December 2009. It was the only way they would release the files! And get this! In one of their e-mails they "claim" to be doing ME a favor by ALLOWING me access to MY files!!!
So I paid the "ransom" and I am reporting them to the BBB and the Dept of Consumer Affairs in Oregon!

Karen
I have not been here in a while, only on reconstruction, but I was thrilled to hear the good news about Olivia's last checkup.....she's getting fat LOL So thankful...God is so Good
Sorry about the problems with your website but sounds like your getting it straightened out.
I got my recon nipples/grafted areolas done almost 2 weeks ago. I will see my PS in the morning. I don't think they are healing like they are suppose to....I will find out in the morning.
Take care and I am praying Olivia is doing well in school......
-
I have been meaning to post an update but keep forgetting. She started school last week and all went very well. She has great teachers (so far LOL) and she keeps pretzels and gatorade with her which helps. YEA!
-
Karen, I am so glad Olivia is getting better. THe Lord does answer our prayers!
I hope she continues to do well in school. Please let us know when you get the website up on another server. I ahve changed computers and have lost all my bookmarks. Thanks, Joyce -
Karen
So glad the school is allowing Olivia to have what she needs to help her. I pray for a great school year for her.
How are your nipps doing? Have you had the tattooing done yet?
I went for my 2 weeks checkup and told the PS about my concerns and he assured me that all my concerns were normal and that my areolas are doing just fine. I was so relieved. They are looking better every day. I will see my PS again right before I visit my mom in 2 weeks.
I will try to stop by to SEE you while I am in Georgia. We can show off our newbies....I feel like I have boobs instead of foobs.....since I finished this process....
take care

Karen
Great to see you today....you are looking just FAB!!!!
hope you will be feeling better soon....
Love Linda

It has been FOREVER since I have been on this site! Just gotten busy doing other stuff, but I pray for all of you so very often.
I wanted to give an update on Olivia, and give God all the glory! We went to Wake Forest last week and I am so happy to say that Olivia is doing GREAT!!!! She still has random "bouts" of nausea, but she told the doctor it isn't very often and each one only lasts a few seconds.
She has grown and is now 5' 2.5" and 102lbs! She has such a small frame that the doctor said her weight is perfect for her size.
In fact, Dr. Fortunado was so pleased with her progress that we dont have to go back until April AND if she is still doing this good (which I fully believe she will be) he said he might start to wean her off the medication!!!!!
God is so good. I have no idea why things played out the way they did for Olivia, but one thing I know for sure is God never gets anything wrong, I trust Him, so I know everything has happened just as it was suppose to.
My music minister was talking tonight about God making things happen in order to fulfill His plans, versus Him allowing things to happen because He has given us free will. I don't believe God made Olivia sick, but I do believe He gave me the tools and resources necessary to get her the help she so desperately needed and deserved. I know I would have NOT been able to help her if I had not given her over to Him. I would have certainly messed everything up.
We have met some fantastic people at Wake Forest. We have formed a "relationship" with the people at the hotel we always stay at and they are so welcoming when we get there. AND they "puppy sit" while we are at the hospital. Both dogs sit up at the front desk to greet guests, and if the manager has a lot of cash to count, she takes Tanner, our sheltie, with her because he makes her feel "protected" LOL
Anyway, I just had to share one more time just how good and faithful our Lord has been to us and how humble I am that He loves us even when we get mad at Him.

Love to all through Christ!
