CTCA an option for holistic therapy?

Options

Hi, all.  I am researching getting natural/holistic therapy instead of AI's after my lump/chemo/rads for ER/PR+, HER2-, Stage II, Grade II IDC.  I was on Femara for 2 weeks, developed too many side effects, onc decided to stop it.  Has anyone had any treatment or know of anyone who has gone to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America for their natural / holistic therapy?  My insurance will cover it, and they will pay for the flight out there, get my medical records, etc., but without much knowledge of anyone who has been there, I don't know if it would be worthwhile or not.  I'm not working full time due to economy, so paying a naturapath out of pocket is going to get expensive, but I'll manage, otherwise, am considering this option.  Anyone know about them?

    Chelev,

I am a (very happy) CTCA patient, though I don't announce that too loudly around here.  Seems when I started researching around here, there was a lot of negativity towards their initial insurance focus.  I will tell you that all of the insurance issues were cleared before I left home, and insurance hasn't even been mentioned since.  It is a non-issue, because they do not want you stressed.

Their naturopathic doctors and nutritionists are the main reason that I chose CTCA.  I gotta admit that their mind/body therapists are out of this world, too.

Your sole financial responsibility while there will be about $40 per night in a hotel, and maybe a little bit of out of pocket, if you overspend their generous meal allowances.  The hotel cost is a subsidized price, so you aren't even paying full price for that.  They do everything they say they will, and will more than likely very pleasantly surprise you.  For your first trip, they will pay 100% of the costs of your caretaker too. Take advantage of this.  Maybe that second set of eyes and ears will help you make a decision.

PM me if you'd like more details about CTCA.   I can tell you about the Midwest Center, as that's the one I go to.  Not sure if that helps or not.
