Good to have you back Beth!  "just in the nick of time..." LOL. So sorry to hear about M. We really missed you. Will read/post more later - having a bad day, won't go into it, vented on the email to Newter - who I call my little internet hook up - she lives about 30 minutes from me. Just one of those days, you know??

Will check out the make-up thread too later when I have some more time, as I see you posted over there as well.

Beth- the stone is beautiful. Some yrs I ago I went to New Hope/Lambertville and while browsing the lovely shops saw a ring that stopped me in my tracks. Turned out it is an orange saphire, which it turns out is rather uncommon. Showed my dh who bought it for me (honest I was just showing him, cause it was not cheap!) It is set in a white gold/platinum ring w/ 1/2 moon on the side of small diamonds. I will try to post. I love the ring and wear it often. You'll be amazed at how much will go w/orange!! I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed mine...

One thing good about jewelry--you don't have to match your outfit to it.  I prefer opposites: green, blue, etc with that beautiful citrine color.  Amazing ring!  Have fun with it, it's going to go with more than your ever dreamed.

Raye, let's see your new bangs.  Are you liking them?

I love the ring but am fascinated by the pillboxes.  What are they made of?  Tiny seed beeds?

I am thinking blues with the orange ring - I love that color combo.

Here are the bangs - I like them, but mostly brush them away from my forehead. I usually like bangs for about 1 week. I posted a pic of NO bangs and ah I think I like it better.

Marin, love those shoes & red is one of my favorite colors (as you all know!!).

Beth, great to see you here1

Raye, you are just beautiful no matter what you do, you know!

My dears, one year ago today I found out I had breast cancer.  I'm still here, thanks in large part to your love, laughter & support, because I would surely have lost my mind long ago without you all.  In celebration, I made a shirt using my blog avatar on the front, and you all, my peeps, on the back.  Hope I remembered everyone!  XXOO

    The back:

Raye, I don't know which you I prefer.  They are both too cute for me!  I *do* think that the bangs make you look about 16 years old and that's not a bad thing.

Kathi, love your shirt!  You will attract lots of attention and comments in that one.  Spread the word that we are here for all who need support and friendship.

OH Kathi! That shirt is just tremendous and brought me to tears (what is wrong with me - I've been soo emotional the last few days) - what a terrific, creative and beautiful woman you are. I agree with Tina, spread that pic around. Most, if not all, will find inspiration and love in that tshirt.

Clarification: Kathi, the love and effort you put into making that shirt and our names on the back brought me to tears, NOT those gorgeous legs of yours. Those legs will definitely bring smiles to faces.

Raye99 - I love your hair, with the bangs!  How long after chemo, if you had chemo, did it take for you to get to that length?  That's what my hair looked like 4 months ago and I am now 3 months post chemo and can't wait until I have hair hopefully as gorgeous as yours!

Kathi - I showed some of the girls at work your tshirt - they love it!!!

Chelev - what a cute avatar!!! I had chemo in September - December of 2006; so almost three years. Like I said, you hair is gorgeous in your avatar, it will be beautiful when it comes back in.

Can't believe I am posting this - this pic was taken a few days after my 2nd A/C (had it every two weeks) and my hair was falling out, getting all over the place and it hurt so much (you know how your scalp hurts?); well, I had my mom come over and shave my head, but not all the way. Chemo took care of the rest. Hang in there sweetie.

    Edited to fix picture.

Your hair grows like a weed! And so thick....

angelsabove - I am 3 months post-chemo and am waiting for it all to fill in on top of my scalp.  Judging from how gorgeous Raye's hair is, we will have beautiful hair for us one day too!  Go to the hairhairhair thread - we're all on there sharing different things we're doing to get it to grow better.

Barbe, I agree - Raye looks beautiful no matter what!

I will check that thread out. I was at chemo a couple of weeks ago and the chemo nurse was telling us about some shampoo that is for chemo patients. I do not recall the name of it. She told me one of the oncology surgeons is selling it. I then found out is was my surgeon that is selling it. Yes I have to agree Raye looks great. Good to know it DOES come back.

Finished my bag and thought I'd show you.  It came out okay but I know where there is a mistake.  No one will notice except me.  It at least got me back into the swing of sewing.  I am proud to have finished it as I am one of those with a gazillion unfinished projects.

Raye LOVE the bangs!!! Tine- Love the bag!!!! Kathi, I want to buy the shirt!!!'

I keep putting the ring on, and then taking it off. I seriously think it's so huge, I just can't wear it to work-- maybe a night out.

So I've been on the treadmill like it's nobody's business, and I feel great. I'm eating better. My clothes are all starting to get loose on me. I'm making a deal with myself. For every 10 pounds I lose I can do a small shopping trip for two new tops and maybe a pair of pants... everything else will have to be tailored until I drop major poundage. I'm so happy.

The pill boxes are these very tiny beads, with mirrored beads and larger beads inbetween. I love them!!!

Tina! love your avatar. You are beautiful and so tiny. Like a little doll.

The bag is great. I want to ask about that door it is hanging on. Is that an interior door? I love the color!! I painted my basement walls a color similar  to that, called Refuge by Sherwin Williams.

Good for you on the weight loss, Beth!! In my opinion, there is nothing more motivating than seeing results.

Thanks for the compliments on the bangs, I think I will keep them for a while.

Shucks, thanks, you flatterer.  Go over to the makeup thread and see some house makeup I just posted.

That's an exterior door to my studio.  It was painted in about 1996 so I don't remember what color it is.  The window trims are painted a lighter shade and the cedar clapboards are left unstained and are weathering naturally.

And I am not tiny.  I am 5'2"!!!  SHEILA is 4'10" and THAT is tiny.

I got a great backpack from my friends surf shop. I'm leaving my purse "abyss" at home, and using the backpack as my carry on. I can fit a lot more in it. I leave in 5 days!!! I can't wait. I have everything I need, and I will pack on Friday before I leave for work. I am so excited!!!
