I am getting my Second Herceptin next Wed. and the are going to Pre-med with Tylenot and Benadryl and then I will get my Herceptin over 3 hours because of the reaction of VERY BAD Chills during my first invusion. They had to give me Demerol in my port to stop me from shaking so bad. I also had a 101 fever that night and the next day fever and felt crummy. will this be every time?

They gave you a loading dose in 30 minutes?  They are supposed to give it over at least 90 minutes.

Are you on a weekly or every 3 week schedule?

I start Herceptin tomorrow and the onc told me that the first infusion is over a 3 hour period, but every other one after that will be 30 minutes.  I will be on a every 3 week schedule.

No one can say for sure, but I had a fever and chills the night of my first infusion, later ones were giving in 30 minutes and I had no problems.  Well other than the drippy nose.

I got my first one which was supposed to be over 90 minutes turned into about 3 hours because they had to stop it and give me demerol because my body was shaking so uncontrolable. The next one they said is going to be over 3 hours after being pre-med with Tylenol and Benadryl. I hope I don't get a reaction this time because I really want to be able to take this.

Had my first one this past Monday.  They gave it to me over a 90 minute period and kept me me there for an extra hour to monitor me to make sure I didn't have a reaction.  All went well, no SE's that evening either.  Next one will be given over a 30 minute span.

I had my second one this week and all went well. They gave me Ativan, Benadryl, and Tylenol before and I slept during it. I was nervous so they gave me something to calm me. It was not bad I have a low grade fever for a couple days now but that is normal.
