I knew you could...
So glad I came on and read...
Now off to bed...
-
You've brought me laughter
to stay my tears
You've given me courage
Over all of these years
I see your strength
And it makes me smile
You refuse to quit
It's not your style
You've shown me hope
Through dark despair
You cradled my faith
When I did not care
For all of these things
You have given me
I send you love
That will always be
-
beautiful.
Apple- such wonderful news!

Life's Greatest Four
Love goes with caring,
Caring goes with sharing,
Sharing goes with bearing.
Life's greatest four, You'll
never need much more.

Just Alittle Faith
Just alittle faith made the blind man see,
Just alittle faith can do the same for you and me.
Just alittle faith can help you each and everyday,
Just alittle faith and you'll never lose your way.
So have just alittle faith, when things go wrong,
And you'll find yourself singing a beautiful song.

Spirit Wind
And in the fragrant wind does blow
The secret to my heart
The age old wisdom flowing there
With treasures to impart
You can not tie my spirit down
Soaring free I have begun
To dream those dreams that stay with me
From sun till setting sun
I am so happy so see how this thread has taken off. Thanks for the good wishes while I was in the hospital. I'm at home but still on IV antibiotics. It is a pleasure to come to this thread and read for ths sheer pleasure and to be inspired.

SISTERS
Sisters are
Special gifts
from God-
Sisters share
the good times
and the bad
and always
listen with
their hearts......
You are all my sisters.............and I love you all...........
Have a great day everyone.......Peace, love and good health to us all.....
-
Thank you hollyann,
We are all sisters and that bookmark said it so well. This poem has nothing to do with sisters but everything to do with needing someone in that special moment. I dedicated this to Verlin S. who would make anyone a Night Friend.
Deep in the twilight shadows
Holds a friend I've known for long
He sends his sweet dark wisperings
On midnights' furtive song
Come out and let your soul soar free
And dance among the stars
I'm ever far but oh so near
To join in where you are
Let me caress your burdened brow
Your sorrows fill my load
I'll take from you the heavy weight
While you journey down life's road
But come with me and play tonight
Leave toils and cares behind
Beneath a twinkling canopy
Where heart aches learn to shine
Always,
Nancy

Wow ! I love this thread.. Such wonderful poems.
-
Love can be special,
love can be true.
But love is much better,
when it begins with you.
-
May I Sleep
May I sleep a while longer
And not face the day?
There is peace in my slumber
The pain's etched away
I may be still in the blackness
Or roused in some dream
My worries can't haunt me
I'm adrift on a stream
Please wait to wake me
My pleasures are few
Let me gain strenght
These rare moments
To face life anew

Nurse
She can wipe away tears,
Or brush away life's fears.
She can take a temp,
or help fix a limp.
She can give you a shot,
where you never thought you want.
She can take you for a test,
or make you take a rest.
She can wrap away your cares
and help you forget their there.
But none so special can there be,
so thank you nurses for helping me.

Fire
Ancients used to fear the dark
And cringed at setting sun
When creeping shadows snared the light
And nightfall had begun
Refuge sought in warm abodes
Allayed the building fright
When sounds ignored during the day
Turned sinister at night
They stoked their precious fire gift
But whence had it come from?
Could it be per chance twas left behind
By the One who sank the sun?
-
For my brother Freddie
I know my time on earth was brief
And if I could I would ease your grief
If a promise could take away your fear
I promise one day you will join me here
As Heaven is filled with God's own choosing
Please don't feel it's me you are losing
For if all are old when they come
Where would Heaven find it's young?
-
Pantafus the poem is so touching.. you made me cry lady.
-
Even if the sky is full of dark clouds
Every dark cloud has a silver lining
Every hot summer has a rain
Though life is full of pain
For that moments of rain and silver lining
Life is worth living............................
-
Farila, I can say exactly the same thing to you. You said just what I am feeling right now. Thank you for putting it into words.
Nancy
-
i love all the new poems
PARTICULARLY Spirit Wind .. Pantufas.. that is such a neat one.
Poems are difficult to comprehend and should be read and reread to understand..
-
Thank you apple. That's the neat thing about poetry. You can pick up something new each time it's read. I am enjoying everyone so much and I encourage more to put their feelings into words.
Happy reading,
Nancy

Bloodwork, tests, rads, chemo...
Wbc low, oh no.
So tired sometimes
I walk a delicate line.
Need to keep it together,
Make my way through this stormy weather.
Sometimes just tired,
Steroids make me wired...
Emotions on a roller coaster ride,
Sometimes just want to run and hide.

United
United we stand and proud to show,
Our love for each other and the God we know.
We are one, In God. With a caring hand to lend,
always helping a friend. Because we are a family,
United by thee.
-
There is never enough time
How hard we try
We try to fix the past... is it in vain?
-
The past is forever gone
But please do not despair
The future awaits our knowledge
Of which we all should share
-
Despair is fruitless...this I do know...
Sometimes I just fall into that realm of "woe"
I'm better today I'd have to say,
Tomorrow is unknown and will have to stay that way...
My faith is still firm of this I am sure...
It is well with my soul... just wishing for a cure.
-
WOW!! You ladies are amazing! arnie, your poem is a gift to all of us. Thank you.
