Has anyone seen the previews of this show?  I can't wait for it to begin!!  I keep laughing and laughing.  I will be taping this for sure!!

    ----

Imagine a larger-than-life-sized obstacle course, with more far-fetched hurdles to overcome, all in the name of achieving the most spills, wipeouts and face plants ever witnessed on television.  That's exactly what ABC's newest reality series, Wipeout, promises to deliver.

Hosted by John Anderson of ESPN's SportsCenter and John Henson of E! Entertainment's Talk Soup, Wipeout is a weekly dose of physically arduous yet hysterical challenges guaranteed to have you in stitches.

Each week, two dozen eager and brazen competitors of various ages, shapes, sizes and levels of physical, emotional and mental tenacity and fortitude, go up against each other over four rounds of unique obstacle courses.  Both contestants and courses change on a weekly basis, with each edition's winner bagging the grand prize of $50,000 and the title of "Wipeout Champion."

With images of the wacky and unquestionably entertaining Takeshi's Castle of years past, some of the insane obstacles in store for the weekly batch of 24 contenders are: Dizzy Dummy, Dirty Balls, The Dreadmill, Sucker Punch and Big Balls.  The Dreadmill alone will require our daring competitors to jump hurdles on a 40-foot long treadmill at warp speed.  As for the abundance of trials involving balls, executive producer Matt Kunitz explains their penchant for the trusty sphere.

"We discovered early on, every time you bounce off of something, that's pretty funny," Kunitz explained to Reality TV Magazine why Big Balls is his personal favorite.  "Just dropping into the water isn't funny, but if there's a bounce and a ricochet and another bounce, that's always good."

His partner in crime and in running the show then chimed in about what their true objective was in developing the hysterical challenges.

"We look for about 90-95% failure on this show, that's what we want.  We like to see people pull it off, we like to show that it's actually doable, you just have to be insanely good at it," co-executive producer Scott Larsed added.

OMG! I caught it tonight, Roctober, and laughed until my sides hurt! I know it probably didn't feel hysterical, but when the contestants missed those platforms and smacked their heads I thought I was going to bust a gut laughing so hard. It was the funniest thing I've seen in such a long time...

Hi girls... BF and I were on the floor LOBO!  What a great show.  Talk about a sincere and true laugh coming out of us.  The Go-Go girl from New Haven, CT rocked!  Can't wait to continue to see the other upcoming shows.  I would not even make it to the end of the first course!!!  Thumbs up to all that participated.

I also saw the following show, "I survived a Japanese Show" or something to the effect but did not care of it that much... it looked better on the previous.

We had it taped, my dd and I watched it this morning while eating breakie and drinking coffee.  It was SOOOOOO funny in parts I thought I would pee my pj's! We're hooked.  Oh and Go-Go girl was great, we were rooting for her, I can't believe she did those courses and stopped to check her nails and fix her  hair, LOL .. I love the commentators!

I love John Henson from his previous program, Soap Talk on E.  He substituted Greg K.  He was hard to get used to, b/c Greg was so good; but once you passed that first stage of getting used to him, he was hilarious.  You right, love when they stop the picture and draw all kinds of suggestions about what the contests were doing.

    Can't wait for next week.

Hubby, grandkids and I were watching it.  We thought it was hilarious and will watch it next week.  That's where I had seen him before - Soap Talk.

The falls from the sweeping arm thingy that they had to jump over were funnier this week, even though I didn't like the little sack they had to stand in. I cannot drink or eat anything while watching this show as it just gets sprayed across the room...

I was home alone watching it this week and I was rolling on the floor laughing my ass off. I have always thought that people falling, slipping or tripping is especially funny (not if they get hurt tho') I love the bloopers especially the ones where people are dancing and tripping over, landing in the wedding cake etc!

Okay, mom and I watched a repeated episode last night (repeated for me and new for mom); I still laughed and mom was on the floor laughing her BO!

I do have to take my hat off to all contestants as I would not have the "balls" to go through all that physical pain, 50K or not!

they had 2 back to back episodes on tuesday. One lady - a stunt woman - actually made it across the big balls but she fell short of making it to the finals.

Check out the newest silly game show called "Hole in the Wall." It is based on a Japanese game show where people have to contort their bodies to fit through a foam shape. The shapes are insane. If they can't contort, they get dumped into a pool of water. It's on Thursday nights at 8:30 on Fox...

I am so glad to hear I am not the only one who LMAO at this stuff.  I have always loved slap stick comedy like the blooper shows and the Dick Van Dyke show.  Really, I am not a horrible person, I just find that stuff hilarious!

Edited to say: Do you think there are some contestants that leave the show in an ambulance?  Now that would not be so funny, but I bet it does happen.

I'm with you on this one.  That show is hilarious and the commentary just adds to it.  And it's a show you can actually watch with your kids.

I wonder what kind of liability waiver the contestants have to sign before they participate?

The commentary is great, but really makes it funny is the female commentator.

She has the greatest looks on her face when people "Wipeout" and then when she tries to struggle and stifle her laughter it is so funny!
