I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M REALLY HERE!!!
I remember finding bc.org on November 25th of last year, the night before my diagnosis was confirmed. In the next week or so I perused the site, only making one short post in the Just Diagnosed forum. I do remember clicking on this forum (Moving Beyond) and envying the ladies here. Facing that huge mountain I had ahead of me was daunting and scary and I was sure that I wouldn't be able to do it.
Well, here I am...almost 7 months later...my last radiation treatment was yesterday (rads following bi-lateral mastectomy and 8 rounds of chemo). My greatest wish was to be done and be able to come to this forum to say I am moving on!! Sure, I have pills (and bills!) and the possibility of recurrence will always be somewhere in the back of my mind. But I'm ready to leave this cancer thing behind and resume life as I knew it (or maybe even a little bit better).
I'm proud to be counted among the survivors now. You ladies are all amazing.

And so are you! Congrats!

Diane - You are amazing! Congratulations on being done with radiation! I definitely look at life differently now. Whenever possible I don't waste my time with people I don't really want to be with or do things I don't want to do (I still clean and such, but if someone asks me to volunteer somewhere or bake something and I don't feel like doing it I just say no.) Go out and have a GREAT life!

Diane
Welcome to life after treatment, there are many good things about this time, you can begin to get back to living and not so many Doc appts, you can get your health back.
Don't be surprised if you feel a little down or worried during this time, many of us feel scared a bit after active treatment ends, I am going through a period like that now and all assure me it is normal. However for the most part things are so much better and I am back to enjoying things I love with a bit of a new lease on life. -
Yay, Diane. It's such a relief to out of the medical vortex, isn't it?
-
Congrats on making the finish line in treatment! Celebrate!
-
Wow and you are free....... wings spread, leaving one line to us.... always be one of us.

Congratulations Diane, welcome back to the land of the living, for me treatment was a big blur of appts & surgeries. Good luck

Diane, in my book, you were a survivor the minute you heard that diagnosis!
I'm glad to hear that you have so much behind you now.
