I succumbed to an exceedingly rare surgically induced permanent disability- unremitting agony mid chest to fingertips. Like most of the approximately 7% of node dissected women who are simliarly afflicted with this torture, I have extensive lymphedema which encompasses the entire treated side of my body. Thankfully,- not visible- -Temporary lines of stagnated lymph appear every A.M.

Despite the fact that my submissions have been printed in 4 cancer magazines, I have only been contacted by 9 other fellow sufferers in the 10 years since my trauma. I am designated as a 1 armed worker by the social security disability & teach GED 5 hours per week.

I am the contact person for nerve pain for Y-me's match program, H&R Bloch cancer group, RSD pain group & CT's Info line.

Barbara, goodness! I noted your last post in 2005, and it sounds like nothing much helpful has happened since then -- I'm so sorry. May I ask if you had radiation as part of your treatment as well, or is all this damage from surgery alone?

You certainly are busy, though -- and it all sounds like very satisfying and fulfilling work.

    Be well,
    Binney
