My sister was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She has a 7 year old who is has lots of questions and concerns. Any ideas for good books about cancer for children?

Try contacting the Massachusets General Hospital Cancer Resource room.  They keep lists of books on all different topics, including books to help children understand and deal with a parent's cancer.  They may even mail you a book or two to borrow and return. Ask them if they will send you the pamphlet -Chemo Shark if chemo is part of what you sister will be going through. It is a very good story for explaining chemo.  They will also help your sister or your research any cancer related topic you may have. They are wonderfully helpful and nice.

My youngest daughter was 7 1/2  when I was Dx....found a great book at the library called "The year my mother had breast cancer".  It is fiction based on fact... It has facts on BC Dx and Tx as well as a story from a little girl's point about her mother....my DD and I read it together...she would react the fiction and I would read the "facts".
