Help needed!

I posted before, because I have 2 palpable hard pitted lumps in "good boob" that didn't show up in the mammo or US.  I was feeling positive as she (the radiologist) found a cyst (last Tuesday) in the area of the biggest lump which she aspirated with some difficulty (v. thick gunk) and has sent off for pathology.  I thought that at least that was one down only one to go... and am waiting for a breast MRi scheduled for this Friday.

My positivity waned Tues night when I discovered both lumps were still there exactly the same.  Last night I couldn't sleep as usual and once again felt the area of my breast and was astounded that the biggest lump seems to have doubled in size!   I can't tell my husband or family as they are already sick with worry.  My gut is that this is ILC...(thickening first, multifocal and big)....the only thing I don't have is puckering etc..

The radiologist's attitude was all about "putting MY mind at ease" which then makes me feel like she doesn't think it's a problem cos she can't see it, which in turn makes me feel like I'm the typical fretting female.

Do I report this size increase to my BC nurse?  I called her to tell her the 2 lumps were still there last Wed and she said we can only wait for the MRi., but I'm really not sure what I should do other than live alone with this knowledge til Fri?

Thank you for any advice and apologies for waffling.

DO NOT apoligize!  What do you have to apologize for?   You are in a scary place right now.  I don't know that much about ILC, but I want to tell you that you will be in my thoughts and prayers...I hope you get answers quickly and that all is benign!  Health and peace to you, Tami

    Hi Nichola,

Hang in there! It's normal to be worried about this stuff. Keep in mind, though, that even if it were ILC, it is not going to double in size over night. Sometimes after an aspiration there can be some fluid or a little blood that leaks into the tissue around the lump and it feels larger. Kind of like what can happen after a biopsy. Also, cysts can fill right back up with fluid after they are aspirated, so it's not all that unusual that it didn't go away completely after she aspirated it. The fact that it was a fluid filled cyst is a really good sign! :-)

I'm glad you have the MRI on Friday- a plan in place. Of course, the waiting is always the hardest part. Take care!
