My pathology  report states HER2 UNAMPLIFIED  but polyploid. What does it mean? Polyploid refers to an extra set of chromosomes, the ability to function independently & to reproduce on its own, What does it all mean and how concerned should I be?

2tzus ~do you understand what the report means.  Is it saying that testing for HER2 status by a method other than Fish may give different results or a positive result.  I see my BS tomorrow and will be asking her about it.   I wasn't able to bring up your link.

Talked to breast surgeon today.  She said not to be concerned about the polyploid designation as it does not increase my chances of a recurrence. Polyploid is a descriptive word. some are called dipploid and other names I can't remember. My mind got rattled in that BS did a core needle biopsy on an underam "lump" which she thought may be scar tissue from the sentinel node biopsy. She also ordered 2 ultrasounds on 2 diffent areas. One area involves an area of concern picked up by my mri.  It may be sebaceous cyst. Always something to keep me guessing!
