Hi everyone-

since our vacation hide-aways started taking over "make up" thread, thought that it would be  great to start a thread to share or vacation experiences...both good and bad.  Please post pictures too Laughing!

My favorite vacation spot is the Duck, North Carolina.  It is located in the Outerbanks.  It's a great place if you love beaches, fishing, light houses, you can also visit a 4X4 beach where Mustangs roam freely, or if your jus looking for a place to relax Cool.  I will post pictures when I have a chance.....

OK.. now I feel very stupid.  How do I post pictures under my post.  I tried copy and paste but it's not working :(

Liz, I would post about my vacations but I haven't been on one in ages!  I'm waiting for all the lovely beach and sunset shots from everyone else.

Well, I am going to San Diego in the fall.  Promise to take pics of the Pacific Ocean.

In the meantime, does "home beach" count?  That is what my mother used to call vacation when I was a kid.  Where did you go?

Before having children, my husband and I used to always try to sneak in atleast a mini vacation but after children we always seemed to be strapped for money and time to take a vacation. At one point in our lives my husband and I gave up vacations totally because for us, money was tight, difficult to take time away from work and we thought vacation was not a necessity. We're self employed so our income was and with the present economy is not stable.  When you work for yourself, there's always work to do. Our attitude was that eventually we'll get to travel, when we have more money and time but after having had cancer our attitudes changed dramatically and now we live for today because we really don't know what tomorrow will bring.   Sacrificing vacations in the past has not made us richer, in fact it has made us feel cheated at times for the time lost.  We haven't been on an air plane since 1994 which was to go to my brother-in-laws wedding in Seattle and we only went for the weekend and had to get back to work. Everyone has to do what they have to do but to us vacationing has become very important.  I want my kids to have memories which last a life time since life holds no guarantee as we all have learned the hard way.
