Bette...my thoughts are with you...am hoping for the very best for you....
What kind of ice cream is the maker making? lol Nice of Tom to go get some for you. My hub was nice and got mine for me at the local ice cream joint for me too : )
What are you eating Patoo?
-
cookies and cream with whipped cream here in NJ
-
celebrating finishing rads and claiming Bette will get news that she doesn't have to worry.
-
Ok, where is the rest of the crew? lol
-
No one can get bad news..we are celebrating!!!
-
Did you ever wonder how we were supposed to type and eat ice cream? lol
-
Mint chocolate chip in West Chester, PA. Yum!
Congratulations to us!
Bette
-
yeah, it's not easy LOL
maybe that's where everyone is - eating ice cream, drooling and forgetting to chime in.
-
okay so is everyone eating out of bowls? I would hate to think someone is juggling a cone! lol
-
Welcome Bette!
-
prefer mine out of a mug. easier to hold close to my face and not far from mug to lips.
-
I haven't had an ice cream sunda in a long time...good choice to have ice cream..thanks!
-
That almost sounds like cheating! No chance of dripping! lol
-
I am wondering if folks are in a chat instead of on this board? I myself first tried to get into chat when I first signed up, but was never able to get it to work?
-
I feel a little guilty...eating in my bedroom..lol never bring food up here...that's where my computer is..how about the rest of you?
-
No, I'm in the living room, my normal spot the lounge chair. Sorry for the pause in posting but I just couldn't put the mug down to type. Now I'm finished, really full. Have to mitivate myself to get to the gym tomorrow and try and do double-time LOL
I'm like you, never could get that chat link to work.
Oh my, I'm soooooooooo full.
-
Luckily my sundae wasn't too big, and I only had cereal for dinner tonight, so plenty of room for ice cream. Full but not uncomfortable.
I need some major motivation to get to the gym. The gym and I do not get along LOL Have gained a few pounds since this whole thing started and clothes are getting tight...not good.
-
Yes, I've gained at least 5 pounds since starting on arimidex in March. I'm not happy at all and trying to get motivated to do the gym more often. But the ice cream tonight was a necessity - that's my story; no apologies.
-
I also need to hit the gym! But there is too much else going on. Gained 30 pounds during chemo. Yikes!
Really enjoyed my ice cream. Tom and I celebrated together. Tomorrow we will make cookies and cream ice cream in the new machine. And eat more ice cream!

And if others come in later and say they forgot and we have to reschedule... (hehehe)
-
Well, I'm jealous of your Tom and you can tell him I said so. We need to clone him.
-
I'm up for rescheduling...ummmm more ice cream...no wait that means more weight and the gym...NO!!!!!! Ok maybe just a little lol
Being a newlywed helps ; ) But I agree Tom seems pretty special. Happy for you Bette that you found each other.
-
Well...hope even if the others did not make it here, that they took the time to have some ice cream somewhere to celebrate. Another path traveled in life and we made it through!
Hope you ladies enjoy your weekend!
-
Thanks for the company at our party. Enjoy what's left of tonight and the weekend.
-
Tom and I just finished making Cookies N Cream ice cream in our new machine. We will continue our ice cream party later tonight.
I am fairly calm about the CT results today. We will deal with it on Monday.

Heya guys! I wasn't able to be near the computer last night, BUT I did manage to time out having a frozen yoghurt with mango chunks between 9 and 9:30!
But if someone wanted to reschedule ANOTHER social.... LOL I'm just saying, I think we all deserve any opportunity to take time out and enjoy life's simpler things. That's how I'm treating the rest of this year. The first half was dong what had t be done...the second half is taking the time to appreciate the little things more and find more time for the little things.
Bette, my thoughts and prayers are with you. The lesions on your lung? How did you discover those? Was this something that had symptoms? I'm just at a bit of a loss that this could be cancer so soon after treatment. But like I said, my thoughts and prayers are going out to you.
The fatigue is a funny thing, isn't it? I'm also a month out of rads (the 22nd, to be exact), and for the mos part, the fatigue has abated somewhat. But every once in a while after doing errands or taking a walk, I'll come home and feel great, both mentally and physically, but the minute I hit the sofa in the afternoon, WHAM, out like a light. But only for a few minutes, but then for the rest of the day, I'm a bit foggy. But those days get fewer and farther between, so I'm grateful for that.
Patoo, a bit OT, but I have become a crockpot FREAK!
And you know, the best thing about the ice cream social is you know there's some left over for today as well!

Hi ladies. I got up this morning and realized that I COMPLETELY for got about our ice cream social last night, seriously! Then again, we cut ALL white sugar from our diet 2 weeks ago. As I was about to type this message, I remembered that I had been wanting to try this frozen dessert and made it last night. Pureed banana, cocoa powder, vanilla extract & maple syrup (used honey since no syrup in the house). Well, I made it last night, and took it out of the freezer AT 9PM as we were sitting down for a movie. How's that for doing something I was forgetting to do without even knowing??? It wasn't ice cream since we're cutting sugar, but it was a frozen dessert
So I did join y'all last night
-
Bette, I am also praying for you.
Catherine and Caroline - I knew I could feel your spirit last night. It was like you all were sitting right here beside me as we all enjoyed our celebration. But, Catherine, I'm a glutton and ate it all! No leftovers for today (and a good thing too)
-
Thanks for your prayers, Patoo.
Tomorrow I will call and schedule the PET scan. I will let you all know when it is.
It has been a quiet, restful weekend. Just what we needed after Friday's news.

I forgot about the ice cream social as well but I DID eat some!
Bette, let us know when your scan is scheduled. My prayers are with you.
