I had an ultrasound and mammo yesterday, they keep saying mastitis.  But it keeps getting worse, and they are now giving me more antibotics.  But now I am so tired all the time...have any of you had that as a symptom of IBC or could it be from mastitis?

I am in Indiana.  I work 9 hrs a day, and by the time I am up for a couple of hours, I just want to go back to bed.  My whole body feels exhausted.  I talked to my GP today and she said that with my ins, I have to try the stiffer antibotics first. and if things don't change or get worse by Thurs. I am to call her.

I have large purplish red areas on my left breast, with an occasional knife like pain that goes from my arm pit to my nipple.  I just don't want to sit around waiting and seeing what will happen, but at the same time I don't want to just to conclusions that it is IBC either

There are possibilities that are not IBC.  It could be a skin infection like cellulitis, or something else that requires IV antibiotics, not just pills.  Are you running a fever?  Is the area warm?  Is it spreading?  Time is VERY important.  Try to be seen within the next 12-24 hours.  Do everything you can to be seen by a breast specialist, or at the very least ask for another doctor's opinion.  Don't let the system keep you from getting the care you want and need.  A diagnosis of this is very important.

    http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/cellulitis/DS00450

"Cellulitis may affect only your skin's surface — or, cellulitis may also affect tissues underlying your skin and can spread to your lymph nodes and bloodstream.  Left untreated, the spreading infection may rapidly turn life-threatening. That's why it's important to seek immediate medical attention if cellulitis symptoms occur. "

No, no fever.  The dr put me on Leviquin, and so far no change for the good, but it has only been 4 days.  I have now noticed that my left breast is now larger then the right..(even my employee's noticed) and now I have a swollen spot under my left armpit.  Dr said for me to call her on tues if nothing goes away.
