At Grandma's
They run thru the freshly mowed grass
Scream with laughter as they race by
So thankful to be here watching them
These happy feelings make her cry
She fills their drinks and offers them snacks
They readily scarf it all down
Her hands can still do these things
So happy to be around
Little ones scrape their knees
And call out to her in pain
She bandages the sore and softly kisses
They return to play again
Grandma's house is always inviting
And she loves them with such care
She prays each night for
Just one more day for them to share

1. none of us are perfect
2. we all roll our eyes 'cause thats what wives do
3. I believe that you and your wife will get thru this, you will figure out what works for your family and for each other. There is no one right way; we all fumble and stumble around, trying everything till we find things that work. Then say a quiet prayer every night that we got thru one more day.
4. Its ok to be scared, cry, be angry whatever in front of your wife, together with your wife. As much as I love that my dh is strong, I also worry about what he thinks and feels about all this. He thinks it will upset me to share but I truely wish he would, then I'd know he was ok.
My prayers are with you both, be sure to take care of yourself so you will be able to care of your beloved.

thx EWB
Martin...If it makes her laugh...then thats ok. My hubby does things similar that make me laff too. If you both get time to read thru posts, you will find that many husbands "skip the country" cause they can't or won't handle their wife's cancer. God bless the women who that happened to because they need far more strength to cope with it. Martin ..you really are a good example...and even if your wife laffs..she has to know she is lucky. LOL...Hugs, Mazy

She loves me, I never would doubt that. I know she really is in a place that laughter is not an easy thing. I will keep those eyes a rollin no matter what. She will eaither laugh her butt off or pass out from holding it in. The one thing that drives her crazy is my sense of humor, she claims not in a good way but who can tell sometimes. I appreciate the praise and no wonder she enjoys chatting with everybody else, you all are truely angels.

I awake again in disbelief
surely it cannot be so
i dreamt i ate a side of beef
my veggie-ness i must forego -
I stand in awe...
When out goes the call.
A sister is in need,
Soon the thread becomes a beacon of light.
With prayers and good wishes and giving us insight
Into the love and caring on this board...
I stand in awe and thank the good Lord.

I need a saint to whisper to me
to tell me it's ok
to tell me there's the energy
to make it thru another day
to inspire the hope of all who bear
the suffering we endure
to cradle those who offer prayer
that some day there's a cure
([prayers for you Saint... thinking about you).

Hello Ladies,
My name is Janzin from the quit smoking thread. I wanted to pop in so you know what has happened to the creater of this thread. I just talk to Pantufas and she is doing really bad. I am sooooooo worried about her that I am thinking about coming out to help her. She is still in the hospital and the antibiotics has given her grief and she is not getting better. She will be going for surgery soon and they are trying to build up her strength as right now they don't think she will make it. If you would like to talk to her, this number goes straight to her room. 540-437-8571. She has given me her permission to give you this number, just don't call late. She is really tired but I will check in on her from time to time.
Let's send her our best wishes, prayers and positive thoughts.
Best,
Janet -

Hi Ladies,
Thanks for your support. I will print off where she left off and mail it to her. I think this might help cheer her up. I will print tomorrow afternoon for those who would like to post a poem or post your support to her.
She has been in the hospital with pneumonia and her immune system is down and they can't figure out what is wrong. When I was talking to her yesterday she tried moving and could hardly breathe and you could hear her struggle and that she was in pain. Breaks my heart that I couldn't be there to help her. They are trying to build up her strength for surgery but as of right now they are afraid she won't make it through surgery. She finds out in a couple of days what's going on. I told her she should get some more opinions, sometimes it takes a few Dr's to figure out what is going on. Any suggestions I will take them to her as I an new to this.

All I can say is WOW!!!!! I spent the last hour reading everyone's poems, etc., and it has been so uplifting and stirring!!! I just can't believe it! I think they should all be compiled and made into a book! I love to write, and here is one of mine:
The Desert Place
To think that He would bring me here was never in my plan.
My dreams were quiet valleys where the deeper waters ran.
To feed within your pastures green and not a fear to trace.
Oh, Father, why the choice of this, the lonely desert place?
Paths that go but nowhere, and I walk them all alone,
Futile days of desert heat, and nights that chill the bone.
I'm tired Lord, so tired, of the heavy, aching heart.
Tired of defeated days before they even start!
Where can I find my song again, Oh Father, can it be?
That even in this desert place you have forgotten me?
"I never will forsake thee!" Oh, how sweet the promise is,
To know that I am not alone, for I'm a child of His!
Oh Father, may I learn that You will feed me with thy bread,
That somewhere in this desert place You have a table spread.
Teach me all the lessons you think that I should know,
And may I pay attention to where e're your footsteps go,
So when another pilgrim finds his way into this land,
And cries, "I am so lonely!" I can say, "I understand."
I will not doubt that through it all You know what's best for me,
And may I find within this place my chosen ministry.
And when the evening hours come and sunlight starts to dim,
I'll know that I was not alone, but walked today with Him.

Something I had written long long ago...LOL
Self Help - The only help that works
All were with me sharing my joy
And most of time I was so happy
Suddenly I fell in a pool of sorrow
For I slipped walking carelessly
Those who I considered my people
Laughed away at my pitiful plight
When I was suffering in the dark
They teased me instead of giving some light
There was no one to help me out
I was left to suffer all alone
All lights around me slowly faded
All I could do was sit there and mourn
Again and again I kept calling for help
But I had lost all those trusted friends
Suddenly I realized ‘I' could help myself
With self help all the darkness ends
I steeled up and grew to be strong
And helped myself out of the plight
Said the glow worm to me smiling
Burn your butt if you need light...
-
Very nice Farila, I love your work.
-
Together we can make it better,
It may be sunny or stormy weather.
Together we can wipe those tears away
and make life better in every way.
And if your world starts turning blue,
Together we can make it threw.
This old world and you and me,
Together will make history.

"Said the glow worm to me smiling
Burn your butt if you need light..."Farila.. I did not expect that to be the conclusion.

Walked with Him
Out in the field I walked with God,
As I heard the humming of the bees
and the rustling of the tree. All my
cares seemed to go dim.
Because I walked with Him.
The birds were singing, A beautiful
day was beginning. I went and knelt,
Praying for a hand to help me stand,
I gave God my fears. He wiped away
my tears, I laid my burdens down.
And I walked with Him.
